Right then, it brings us to the end of our coverage for this IPL encounter and believe it or not, RCB have managed to come back to winning ways with a commanding performance against a team who were having the time of their life. It came a bit late but Royal Challengers has just about managed to keep their slim hopes alive in the tournament. It was not the best of batting efforts from a run chase point of view especially after losing so many early wickets. RCB will like to believe that this win inspires them to get on a roll and win all their remaining five matches. The all-round effort from Cameron Green in a new role will certainly please the management and they can breathe a sigh of relief after the win. The IPL carnival continues tomorrow with Kolkata Knight Riders slated to square off against the Punjab Kings. While KKR will look to continue their dominance, Punjab Kings will hope to return to winning ways. Rajat Patidar (Player of the Match, 50 off 20): (What was on his mind after a tough Test series against England?) I was just keeping in mind that I had to control the controlables. I was just doing the things I was doing for so long. (What were those things?) My mindset and at the same time, the technique with my batting. Whenever I go back home I try to solve every problem which I face. I hope for skillful batting. (Does he try to whack the spinner out of the attack?) Nothing like that. Today I was looking to just hold my shape and I played well.

Faf du Plessis (Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain): I forgot the way to look (here for the chat). Every time I've just walked off (laughs). We showed great signs of a fight. The last game they scored 270+ and we got 260, the KKR game as well we lost by a run. We've played some close games but you have to win matches to get some confidence. When you don't win it affects the team and me as well. I'll sleep a little happier tonight. You can't speak confidence into a group, you can't fake confidence into a group. The only thing that gives confidence is performances. In the first half we were not quite near our potential. Obviously you try 100 per cent but if the performances aren't good, the competition is so strong and the teams are so strong, you'll get hurt. You can see some confidence now in our batting. First half it was only Virat scoring runs but now Rajat's scored runs, Greeny's scored some runs. There's not going to be just one guy scoring the runs. We know that Chinnaswamy has been a real frustration for us. It's a difficult ground for us to bowl at. Even the spinners have found it challenging. We've tried to find a recipe to bowl at that ground but it's been tough for the boys to find a recipe. Karn was amazing. Even more so now in today's day and age of T20 cricket you need to have a leg-spinner in your team.

Cameron Green (Royal Challengers Bengaluru): We always have to celebrate the little wins. Nice to be back on the winning board. Feel pretty good now. (On the toss move being brave) Yeah it was. Obviously credit to the captain and the coach for going for that. The main reason (for the win) was the way we batted today. I love batting up the order, I think everyone else here loves that as well. Wherever I can fit for the team I'll take that. (On the air-time on that Klaasen catch he took) The whole time I was thinking 'Klaasen, Klaasen' in my head (laughs) and I'm glad it stuck. Always nice to win one so we'll enjoy it tonight.

Pat Cummins, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain: Not an ideal night. Probably a few over-par with the ball and lost a few wickets throughout the innings. (Bowling first being an issue) Not really. Few games ago, we thought we were a bat-second team. Who knows. (On who will come to the post-match press conference) I speak after wins, Dan (Daniel Vettori) speaks after losses (laughs). The boys have been going really well. It is T20 cricket, you are not going to win every game. Won't dwell on this too much. (On their aggressive batting approach) I think it is our strongest suit, to be honest. It is not going to work every game. Unfortunately, did not go our way tonight but it is definitely the way to go.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally came back to winning ways after an inspired bowling effort from most of the RCB bowlers after an impressive showing with the bat on a two paced wicket. 206 at the halfway stage didn't look anywhere close to being enough with how SRH have gone about their business this season but what transpired in the second innings is exactly what RCB and their fans would have hoped for.

Will Jacks was introduced into the attack with the new ball and he made an immediate impact by sending back the dangerous Travis Head in the very first over. He tossed one up with an extra bit of bounce which undid Head. Abhishek Sharma was not bothered at losing his opening partner and went about in his own merry way. He took a liking to Jacks in his second over and pummelled him for a couple of sixes and a four to get things going.

However, it was the introduction of Yash Dayal which brought about his downfall. He tried to continue the onslaught and fell in the process. The newcomer Swapnil Singh made an immediate impact in his opening over to turn the pendulum well in favour of the visitors. The left-arm spinner dismissed Aiden Markram with a full toss before prizing out the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen which was a massive blow for the Sunrisers given how well he has been batting all tournament.

With the score being reduced to 56/4, the pressure was very much on the home team. The introduction of Karn Sharma pushed them further on the backfoot as he bagged the wicket of Nitish Kumar Reddy in his first over before sending back Abdul Samad in his second to push SRH further back in the right ball. The match seemed to be heading in the direction of RCB when Pat Cummins came out all guns blazing and smashed three sixes and a four during his brief cameo.

However some good planning from Cameron Green brought about his downfall. From there on, SRH just meandered along with the date almost sealed. Shahbaz Ahmed tried to hit those big shots towards the final overs but it wasn't to be. He eventually remained unbeaten on 40 off 37 deliveries and could only muster 171/8. Cameron Green, Swapnil Singh and Karn Sharma were the pick of the RCB bowlers, bagging three wickets each.
