Well, then. It was a comfortable victory for India in the end. They go 2-0 up in the series with three matches to go. They have a lot of boxes ticked, especially when it comes to the batting unit. Australia would be a bit disappointed with their efforts with the ball. They need to recover quickly and get their plans in place. We go to Guwahati next with just a day's break in between. It will be a must-win game for Australia to keep the series alive.

Suryakumar Yadav (India captain): The boys are not putting too much pressure on me. Taking that onus, taking that responsibility. I think I only told them before the toss to be prepared to bat first. When we came here for practise, the game started at 7 and there was a lot of dew after 3 overs. When I saw him (Rinku Singh) in the last game, the composure he showed, it was brilliant. Today also, asked to bat in the last two overs, he was brilliant.

Andre Borovec (Australia coach): I think if you look at the bowling, there was fine lines with execution. There was a sweet spot in the first 6-7 overs but we weren't able to make inroads. The plans and intent is there, doesn't have to miss by an awful lot. Generally, just the execution, we are making the right decisions, but failing to execute at the right moments.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say - It was really special for me. Really enjoyed today. I was trying to play all my shots, thinking to be fearless, take brave decisions. Surya and VVS bai told to express myself. For me, I always think, what I can improve in myself, how I can develop my cricket among experienced players. (On the runout in the previous game) It was my mistake, I said sorry (to Ruturaj). Stoinis was between me, I was sure but then not sure. I did a wrong all. I accepted it was a mistake, next time I won't repeat that. Rutu bhai is humble, we discussed that next time when we are running, it would a secure single. I really worked on my fitness, to develop all areas where I have margin and I can score runs.

Rinku Singh: (On how he maintains his cool) I have been playing for a while at this position and I try to keep myself as cool as possible, because that makes things easy. I do not try to think too much and react to whatever ball has been bowled. I just watch the ball, read the ball and then select my shot. The dressing room atmosphere is great and I am enjoying playing under Surya bhai. I am batting at No.6, so I might not get a lot of overs. Whenever I get a chance, I try to finish it. (On his practice routines) I try to practice for such situations, like the last 5-6 overs.

That was all too easy for India in the end. Australia had their moments in the chase, but they were really in the game only during that partnership between Tim David and Marcus Stoinis in the middle.

Chasing a mammoth total, Australia desperately needed the powerplay to go their way. They were off to a flier with 31 runs coming off the first two overs. But India's ploy to bring on spin as early as the third over paid rich dividends. Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel both struck in the powerplay and Australia were three down before the end of the field restrictions.

Tim David joined Marcus Stoinis after the fall of Steve Smith in the eighth over. The duo was hitting the ball nicely, both off the pacers and spinners. Whenever the bowlers erred in length, they pounced on it. They added 81 runs in just 37 deliveries. But once David holed out to long-on, the Australian batting unit unraveled.

Australia lost five wickets for just 16 runs in the middle, and before you knew it, Matthew Wade was batting with the number 11 Tanveer Sangha at the other end. Wade ended up hitting a few boundaries towards the end, but the match was more or less in India's hands by that time.

Ravi Bishnoi was the pick of the bowlers for India. He came in with the new ball and found the breakthrough early in the innings. His double break in the powerplay broke the back of the chase, and he once again came back to dismiss the dangerous Tim David in the middle-overs, opening those floodgates. Axar Patel also had a good night, going for just 25 runs in his spell and taking a wicket.

The fast bowlers traveled around the park. They were inconsistent with their lengths for the initial part and got punished. However, the management will be happy with the way Arshdeep and Prasidh bowled in the death overs. They executed the yorker well towards the end. Prasidh ended his spell with three wickets.

A couple of bounces before it hits the fence. But this night has belonged to India. They were belligerent with the bat, and held their nerve when they had to with the ball. Plenty to ponder for Australia, though, and they have just two days to get back in this series that is threatening to drift away very soon!
