India vs Australia Highlights, 3rd ODI: 3 moments that generated buzz among fans

Rohit Sharma invites KL Rahul to collect the trophy. Rahul was the man who led India in the first two games and it's a brilliant gesture by the regular skipper to let his colleague have his moment. The Indian team then poses with the trophy with one of the youngsters from the Saurashtra setup, who was with the team today, given his moment of joy too as he hoists the trophy right in the center of the frame. Happy faces in the Indian camp and on the back of a superb showing in the Asia Cup and this series, they will be buoyant about their chances at the World Cup. They will now travel to Guwahati to play England in the first warmup fixture on Saturday (September 30) while Australia play The Netherlands in Thiruvananthapuram on the same day in their first warmup encounter. This is it folks - the big event is almost here!

Rohit Sharma (India captain): Yeah I am pretty happy. Will like to go all the way long but as long as I am hitting the ball well I am happy. We have played really well in the last 7 matches. We were challenged and we took the challenge with both hands. We responded to the challenge. unfortunately not the result which we wanted today but as I said the last 7-8 matches has been great for us. Yeah I am pretty happy with Burmah. Itss all about the body, One or two bad games can happen to anyone but how he fees mentally and how feels body-wise is the most important thing for us and he is in a good space. When we talk about the 15, we are very clear in the mind. Pretty much, it's a team sport. The focus will be on that for the next one and half months and keep us fresh both physically and mentally.

Shubman Gill is the Player of the Series! He's not here to receive the award though and his skipper Rohit Sharma will collect it on his behalf.

Glenn Maxwell (Player of the Match): It's not too bad is it? Yeah its been a lot of hard work. South Africa tour was a bit of a set back. Went back to Australia, got an injection but coming to the World Cup fully fit and running. It's nice to chip. If Mitch Marsh was there we would have chopped and changed a bit. It is all about contributing. We are all trying to be as flexible as possible. We are trying the batters to express themselves at different stages of the innings.

Pat Cummins (Australia captain): Yes (tiring) but I must say I'm pretty happy bowling in the night than in the heat though. (On Maxwell and Starc returning) They haven't played a lot in the last couple of months. Maxi with a four-fer and Starcy in great rhythm, couldn't have asked for. (Marsh to open with Warner at the World Cup?) Potentially - Travis Head won't be ready for the start of the tournament. The way he (Marsh) and Davey started today is quite dangerous to bowl to. Ashton Agar's back home with a bit of a calf. He won't be available for a couple of weeks. But we'll take it as it comes. Happy today - it was the first hit out where we had pretty close to our full strength available. We've played a lot of cricket with different players stepping up and we feel just about ready to go.

Let's hear from Marnus Labuschagne: It was nice to contribute obviously. Came in at a bit of a different time than I have been coming in and it was a chance to sort of navigate that scenario at the back end and get a really good total on the board. (On the pitch) It certainly felt like a game where the front end was the nicest time to bat. At the back end the ball just started spinning and sticking in the wicket. Thought the boys did really well at the back to just go about it differently than looking to slog it. India played very well in those first two games but it was really nice to see all the big guns back today. Everyone contributed in their own way today and it was great to get the win.

Australia outplayed India in the end winning the final ODI by runs to make the scoreline 2-1. When Rohit Sharma was smashing sixes for fun, it looked like a relatively easy run chase but after their departure, it was a mountain too steep to climb. Strokemaking became a lot difficult as the innings progressed and the Indians lost their plot in the end. Wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals and it all went pear-shaped.

Glenn Maxwell bowled a superb spell and turned the match around with the ball with figures of 4/40 in his 10 overs. It was Washington Sundar who was sent into open the innings with captain Rohit Sharma. It was a tale of two ends as far as India was concerned. While Rohit timed the ball like a dream, Washington struggled to get going. They got off to a great start owing to Rohit's blitzkrieg but Sundar just couldn't put bat to ball. He was eventually dismissed by Glenn Maxwell and that was the start of a superb spell.

It looked like the stage was set for two of the greatest white ball batters to take India over the line. They had done it before and the crowd would have surely wanted them to turn it on. They did for a brief while with a fine partnership. Rohit kept plundering the attack while Kohli churned singles and doubles to tick the scoreboard. He also chanced his arms and went onto score a fine half-century. It was the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli which turned it totally in favour of Australia.

KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer tried to steady the ship but Rahul never got going and couldn't find momentum. Rahul was eventually dismissed on 26 and it looked like the perfect stage was set for Suryakumar Yadav. He couldn't quite get going and ended up slicing one straight to the midwicket fielder. The writing was on the wall and it all went downside for the home team. Once Surya was there, India had a sniff but it all went down the slope. Jadeja had some batting practice and in the end, it was a convincing victory for the Aussies. Maxwell bagged 4 while Hazlewood chipped in with a couple.

Pat Cummins running back a good 20-25 yards and taking that catch to seal the match for the Aussies. Another slower ball from Cameron Green does the trick. Superb fielding effort from the Aussies as they make the scoreline 2-1. A comprehensive 66 run win.

49.4 Cameron Green to Mohammed Siraj, TAKEN! ALL OVER! Shanks this full one at the stumps a mile into the sky over mid-off as he doesn't get as much distance. Another slower one and it's fitting that a delivery that has worked so well for the Aussies bags the final wicket. Cummins pedals back and takes it reverse-cupped before falling over and that's an outstanding catch to wrap up proceedings. Australia pull one back by 66 runs but India take the series 2-1!
