The inevitable has happened very soon. The match has been called off as the rain hasn't eased even a single bit and the umpires feel enough is enough. This is the third consecutive match without a result and it's really disappointing for the players and the fans. We have a contest between St. Lucia Kings and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots later in the day and fingers crossed for that match. Let's really hope that Cricket is the winner at least in that contest. Until next time, this is Pragadeesh signing off
The umpires are having a chat near the Tallawahs dugout but nothing really changed in the middle as it's still raining. Stay tuned for further updates
The covers are firmly in place and you could see from the LIVE pictures that the rain hasn't stopped yet. Even if it eases, it will take a lot of time for the groundsmen to remove the water puddles on the sheets and the outfield has taken a heavy beating due to the relentless downpour
Hello and welcome to the LIVE coverage of the CPL T20 match between Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Royals at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St. Lucia
After starting the campaign on a winning note, the Tallawahs are back in action against the Barbados Royals, who got steamrolled by the Kings in their opening match. Jason Holder bowled brilliantly and picked up four wickets to his name but still the Royals couldn't stop the opposition from getting past 200 and in reply, their top-order failed miserably.
They didn't have much time to plan and strategize for another tough test but if the Royals turn up at the same level, then the result could also be the same as the Tallawahs are one of the strong outfits in this tournament and you have to be at your best in order to taste success against them
After playing a matching winning knock to help West Indies seal the series against India, King produced his masterclass and smashed 83 runs before Imad Wasim shone with the ball to help his team cross the finish line. Except King, the top order failed to convert starts into a big score against the Kings, so that will be one area of concern for the Tallawahs, heading into this match
So much has been said about this contest but what we didn't refer so far is the rain that's been a nightmare for the players and the fans. Both matches got abandoned yesterday and the weather hasn't been promising either for today. Fingers crossed
