Kolkata Knight Riders win the match by 59 runs

Shikhar Dhawan had a change in his opening partner, but the opening woes continued for them. Pat Cummins trapped Rahane plumb in front of the sticks, sending him back in the hut early in the chase. KKR then got the prized scalp of the in form Dhawan who found his off stump clattered. DC were 2 down in the powerplay, similar to how their counter parts were, and had the hope of a victory on the cards.

DC had their captain Shreyas Iyer and wicket keeper early in the chase, they stitched a small partnership and had the runs flowing in, getting a boundary every over.  Pant looked to clear the rope against Varun Chakravarthy but handed and easy catch in the outfield. What then followed was a batting collapse from the Delhi Capitals. Hetmyer skied on in the air and handed long on an easy catch. Iyer too followed suit and lost his wicket, looking to up the ante.

Marcus Stoinis tried to hit a six, but in vain, as he handed long on a dolly to hold on to. Axar Patel lost his sticks to the spin of Varun Chakravarthy. Rabada and R. Ashwin hit a few boundaries as they huffed and puffed but couldn't do much to improve the score as hey ended on 135/9 in their 20 overs.

KKR put up an absolute bowling masterclass to out bat DC in today's contest. Their pick of the bowlers was Varun Chakravarthy, who struck regulary and picked up 5/20 in his 4 overs. Pat Cummins played a perfect second fiddle to Varun Chakravarthy, picking up 3 wickets with 2 of those coming in the powerplay. Lockie Ferguson picked up a wicket in the end and sealed the deal for his side.
Over: 20 | Summary: 1 1 0 1 W 0 Bowler: Lockie Ferguson Score: 135/9
19.6 Lockie Ferguson to R Ashwin, back of a length delivery outside off stump. Ashwin goes onto the back foot and chops it off the bottom edge towards short third man. A tame end to a tame chase!
19.5 Lockie Ferguson to Tushar Deshpande, OUT! Back of a length delivery on middle and off and Deshpande looks to heave that one into the leg side. However, he gets it off the bottom half of the bat and offers a simple catch to Morgan at long on. Deshpande hits it hard enough, but Morgan stationed at long on, holds on to the catch comfortably. 9th wicket down for DC
19.4 Lockie Ferguson to R Ashwin, full delivery on off stump. Ashwin goes deep into his crease before shanking it down the ground towards long on for yet another single
19.3 Lockie Ferguson to R Ashwin, banged into the track well outside off stump. Ashwin backs away and looks to upper cut it over the fielder at third man. Unfortunately though, he can't make contact
19.2 Lockie Ferguson to Tushar Deshpande, slower delivery on a back of a length on middle and leg stump. Deshpande lets the ball come to him before dabbing it into the off side for one
19.1 Lockie Ferguson to R Ashwin, low full toss outside off stump. Ashwin gives himself a bit of room before pushing it towards the fielder on the fence at deep point for a single
Final few formalities remain for KKR. They have been clinical with the ball in hand and have chipped in with the wickets when necessary. DC need 63 runs in 6 balls
Over: 19 | Summary: 4 1 0 0 W 0 Bowler: Pat Cummins Score: 132/8
18.6 Pat Cummins to Tushar Deshpande, excellent yorker on middle and off stump. Deshpande gets his bat down in time and squeezes it out back to the bowler. Top spell from Cummins!
18.5 Pat Cummins to Kagiso Rabada, OUT! THREE FOR CUMMINS! Length delivery on middle and leg stump and Rabada looks to hoick that one over long on. However, he gets it off the inner half of the bat and the ball arrows towards long on where Tripathi makes no mistake! Rabada looked to clear the ball out of the park but could only hole out to the long on fielder, who will accept it any day. 8th wicket falls for DC here
18.4 Pat Cummins to Kagiso Rabada, wide yorker that just spears inside the tramlines on the off side. Rabada backs away, gets a little too far away from the ball and fails to reach it in the end
18.3 Pat Cummins to Kagiso Rabada, pin point yorker on middle and leg stump. Rabada does well to jam his bat down on it and dig it out back to the bowler. Excellent stuff from Cummins!
18.2 Pat Cummins to R Ashwin, yorker on middle and leg stump. Ashwin clears his front leg and jabs it down the ground towards long on for a single. He looks intent on coming back for the second but is sent back by his partner
18.1 Pat Cummins to R Ashwin, FOUR! Back of a length delivery on off stump and Ashwin just gives himself a hint of room before creaming it off the back foot past extra cover for a majestic boundary! Makes adequate room to play the shot and creams it past the gap for a boundary. Lovely start to the over
All but over for DC there. They will need a few big hits here bring down the deficit and help their sides net run rate not to fall by a mile. DC need 68 runs in 12 balls
