11:12 PM local time, 9:42 AM IST | That will be all from Grand Prairie for tonight! This is the pair of Karthik Raj and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda for more cricketing action from around the world!
Sikandar Raza (Seattle Orcas captain): "I thought the win yesterday did a lot good for us, and to win today on a slightly slow and tricky success, was just as good. I try and keep the emotions on check when things don't go well, but otherwise, I keep myself calm and give my hundred percent. I could have come on to bowl when Dre Russ came out to bat, but then there were match-ups which worked for us. Kyle Mayers was injured by his hand and could not hold his bat, so, Aaron Jones stepped up and took this chance with both hands."
Shimron Hetmyer (MVP of the Match): "Tired, very tired but thankful that we could get across the line again. Once you get a good start, it makes it easier for the guys lower down. Happy with where my game is at currently."
Shimron Hetmyer has been named as the 'MVP of the Match'
Time for the Post-match Presentation!
Jason Holder: "Felt that we had a pretty decent batting effort. Maybe with hindsight you can say 10-15 short. I think at the night, the ball comes on better. We still have got a job to do, we have a job to execute. We didn't execute it as well as we would have liked at the back-end. We just need to find ways to get over the line. We need a win, simple as that. We have done a lot of good things, just not put a complete game together."
10:58 PM local time, 9:28 AM IST | Seattle Orcas win by 5 wickets with 1 ball to spare!
Aaron Jones 73 (38) | Waqar Salamkheil - 2/29 (4) Andre Russell 65* (39) | Jason Holder - 2/36 (4)
Shimron Hetmyer does it, back-to-back! Seattle Orcas do it, back-to-back! Another run chase, another success here at the Grand Prairie Stadium for the men in green.
The wicket did quicken once the lights started to take full effect, but Josh Brown's early loss did not help matters. Jason Holder provided Los Angeles Knight Riders with the breakthrough but then came a bold and counterattacking partnership of substance between Shayan Jahangir and Aaron Jones!
Jones did ride his luck, but did a fabulous job of continuously going after the bowling to pick up crucial runs! He brought up a well-deserved half-century too.
Then came a phase of play in which wickets fell in a cluster. The partnership was broken and the likes of Heinrich Klaasen were undone too. Sikandar Raza fell for a low score as well.
But, cometh the hour, cometh the man! Hetmyer batted superbly once again on this pitch and found the boundaries that were required. The loose balls were punished, the good balls were scored of too and the required rate was brought down.
It got a bit closer than expected in the final over, but a full toss around off-stump was enough for Hetmyer to smash it over long-on for six!
The Orcas now move up to 4th with 4 points, but the Knight Riders stay on 2 points from 7 games, languishing at the bottom of the table.
19.5 Shadley van Schalkwyk to Shimron Hetmyer, HETMYER FINISHES IT OFF WITH A SIX AGAIN! Full-toss bowled wide of off, Hetmyer moves across and muscles it down the ground for a maximum. Back-to-back last-over wins for the Orcas and their season might be back on track with this!
Oh well! Suddenly, the ball is getting mistimed off the bat of Hetmyer!
19.4 Shadley van Schalkwyk to Shimron Hetmyer, low full-toss bowled wide of off, Hetmyer squeezes it back to the bowler. 3 needed off 2 now!
Seattle Orcas Scored 200 runs in 19.3 overs
19.3 Shadley van Schalkwyk to Kyle Mayers, full-toss outside-off, Mayers moves across and lifts it in front of long-on. Single taken and Orcas' 200 is up!
Short third, point, cover and wide mid-off - all are in.
19.2 Shadley van Schalkwyk to Kyle Mayers, yorker outside-off, Mayers looks to squeeze it behind point but he doesn't connect. 4 needed off 4 now.
One hit away now, are the Orcas!
19.1 Shadley van Schalkwyk to Shimron Hetmyer, full and wide of off, Hetmyer drives it to deep extra-cover for a single.
Shadley van Schalkwyk [3.0-0-47-0] comes back into the attack.
Right, so we have 5 runs to get for the Orcas off the last over. Can LAKR make it interesting by stretching this? Can they get the big wicket of Hetmyer early in the over?
