Luke Wright Winning captain of Team Abu Dhabi:
We all know that he (Gayle) is an asset to any sight when he keeps going like that. The bowlers played their part but Chris finding form was crucial for us. Hopefully he can continue that and we can keep winning.

Player of the Match goes to the Universe Boss Chris Gayle for his brutal 84*(22).
This has been an exhibition of utter bloodbath, brought about by the Universe Boss, who FINALLY joined the party after low returns in the previous games, to notch up 84* from just 22 balls, as Team Abu Dhabi made very very short work of this target of 98 runs, by chasing down the score in only 5.3 overs. Paul Stirling got 11 from 5 balls while Joe Clarke was reduced to a mere spectator at the other end, scoring 5*(6). For the Maratha Arabians, the only wicket of the innings, that of Paul Stirling was taken by the captain Mosaddek Hossain, who otherwise was carted for 22 runs in the remaining deliveries of the over, to end with 1/22 from 1 over, with all the other bowlers consisting of Yamin Ahmedzai, Sompal Kami, Maroof Merchant & Ishan Malhotra all going for big runs, with Kami & Ahmedzai bearing particular brunt of the fury of the Universe Boss, along with Mosaddek. That cricket ball might have gained more than a few air miles today, all thanks to the Universe Boss. This was as brutal & professional a display from Abu Dhabi as they come & they would've needed this massive win today.
5.3 Muktar Ali to Chris Gayle, SIX! Gayle signs off the game with a big one! Good length ball, Gayle sits deep and deposits it over cow corner for a maximum. What a display of hitting this has been!
5.2 Muktar Ali to Joe Clarke, slower ball which hardly gets off from the pitch, mows it down to long-on
5.1 Muktar Ali to Chris Gayle, full ball on the leg-stump, gets an inside edge onto the pads which goes off to mid-on
A much quieter over from Malhotra, who concedes 10 from it, with Abu Dhabi 92/1 after 5 overs, needing ONLY 6 runs from 30 balls. Muktar Ali comes into bowl now & this game might end in this over.
Over: 5 | Summary: 1 1 1 4 2 1 Bowler: Ishan Malhotra Score: 92/1
4.6 Ishan Malhotra to Chris Gayle, full ball on the off-stump, Gayle tries to go downtown but toe ends it. The ball goes in the air but drops in no man's land
Age is never a barrier for a lion to roar and reassert its dominance as the king of the Jungle & the Universe Boss has done just that today, 76* (19) from him has been an exhibition of brutality.
4.5 Ishan Malhotra to Chris Gayle, full ball outside the off-stump, squeezes it past short thirdman, and Gayle comes back for the second
4.4 Ishan Malhotra to Chris Gayle, FOUR! Slower delivery on middle and leg, moves his front leg away and hacks it, gets an inside edge which flies past short fineleg
4.3 Ishan Malhotra to Joe Clarke, full ball angling in on the pads, whips it away to deep square leg for a single
4.2 Ishan Malhotra to Chris Gayle, slower delivery on a good length outside the off-stump, Gayle swings hard but gets only an inside edge this time
4.1 Ishan Malhotra to Joe Clarke, fuller delivery angling in on the off-stump, gets a thick inside edge to deep mid-wicket. Gayle is not coming back for the second
Poor boy there Maroof Merchant, he started off really well, but the Universe Boss has chomped him up for the back-to-back sixes here & after the end of the 4th over, Abu Dhabi are 82/1. It's Ishan Malhotra who's come into bowl here & we might see the game end in the next couple of overs, we suspect.
Over: 4 | Summary: 0 1 1 1 6 6 Bowler: Maroof Merchant Score: 82/1
3.6 Maroof Merchant to Chris Gayle, SIX! He is giving catching practise to the players in the dugout! Slightly short once again, he waits on the backfoot and dismisses it over wide long-on
3.5 Maroof Merchant to Chris Gayle, SIX! Good length ball, but it is really slow, Gayle waits on the back foot and picks his spot, depositing it over deep square leg
The new bowler here Maroof Merchant, who's a leg-spinner, is just 16 years of age & considering his age, it's but natural to imagine his fate at the hands of the Universe Boss, but he's holding up admirably well so far.
