Sixers won by 5 wickets
Player of the match: Ben Dwarshuis
Sooo, BBL 10's league stage is done and dusted... and it took us till the final match to know the five teams, that are going to compete in the playoffs. Seriously, there have been some nail-biting thrillers and more entertainment is coming our way when Adelaide Strikers take on the Brisbane Heat in the Eliminator on Friday... Until then, this is Pragadeesh on behalf of my fellow commentator Lavil, signing off for now. Cheers and Bye!
Dwarshius: "Stoinis' wicket was crucial as we knew they need all four points to get to the Playoffs. I am happy with the 19 wickets I got in this tournament. We have a couple of days to celebrate and get ready to face the Scorchers."
Ben Dwarshius, is the Player Of The Match
Defending the total of 178 runs, Melbourne Stars got off to a brilliant start by dismissing Josh Phillipe and Daniel Hughes in the back-to-back overs. However, Moises Henriques and James Vince kept their cool and didn't allow the momentum to swing in the favour of Stars completely. They kept the scoreboard ticking and despite losing two early wickets, they had a very good powerplay, scoring 43 runs in four overs.

Melbourne Stars were desperate to win the Bash Boost point as they needed all four points to advance to the playoffs. It seemed they put too much pressure on themselves to win a point. The bowling changes from Glenn Maxwell didn't do wonders, as the Sixers comfortably sealed the point in the 9th over. Nic Maddinson got rid of James Vince before Moises Henriques and Carlos Brathwaite fell in quick succession.

The in-form Daniel Christian joined hands with Jordan Silk, and the former took on the bowlers from word go. Boundaries were coming thick and fast from Christian's bat and Jordan Silk was happy to play second fiddle. When 10 runs needed from the final over, Christian smashed a six over deep square leg before getting a top-edge boundary to seal the win for the Sixers.
WHAT A MATCH! Sydney Sixers chase the total with one ball left, all thanks to Daniel Christian's excellent knock off 49 from 23 deliveries. The Sixers turned out to be the Stars' dream crushers once again in BBL. Last year, they defeated them in the final and this time, they stopped Glenn Maxwell's men from reaching the playoffs.

The Sixers finish the season as table toppers, while there won't be Melbourne Stars in this year's Big Bash playoffs.
19.5 Billy Stanlake to Dan Christian, FOUR! SIXERS WIN! Back of a length delivery from the big Billy Stnalake on that occasion, Christian gets a thick top edge and the ball flies away behind the keeper for a boundary to end the match and win resoundingly by a margin of 5 wickets
19.4 Billy Stanlake to Jordan Silk, back of a length delivery on the top of the middle stump, Silk punts the ball away and runs across for a quick single. 2 needed in 2 now
19.3 Billy Stanlake to Dan Christian, full toss on top of the willow, Christian lobs the ball in the air and the pair steal a single. 3 needed in 3
19.2 Billy Stanlake to Dan Christian, SIX! Back of a length delivery, Dan spotted the length early, got set and in position and smoked the ball all the way for a huge maximum. 4 in 4 needed now
19.1 Billy Stanlake to Dan Christian, well-disguised short ball from Stanlake, foxes Dan Christian on that occasion, no run
Stanlake to bowl the last over
10 needed from the last over. It's Sydney Sixers' game to lose now.
What an innings this is turning out to be for Dan Christian. He bailed the Sixers out from difficult positions many times in this BBL tournament and he's doing it again against the Stars at the MCG.
We are facing technical difficulties and should be back soon, stay tuned
18.1 Sam Rainbird to Dan Christian, SIX! Back of a length delivery on top of the off stump, Dan pulls the ball hard, gets a thick top edge and the ball goes all the way for a maximum
14 off the over. NCN is slightly expensive today and to add to the Stars' woes, Stoinis drops Christian. Sam Rainbird to continue
