Matthew Short (Player of the Match and captain, SFU): The award is nice to win, but more happier finishing 5-0. To be honest, it is not too difficult; the staff also do the work behind the scenes, and a big shoutout to Corey Anderson, who played earlier as well. We lost the toss, and if we had won, we would have batted second. It was dry and played quite a bit in comparison to the last game. Huge shoutout to the ground staff as well. Their batters played into the wind and were smart as well. Credit to our bowling unit, in the last game, they got off to a flyer. Her,e Quinny and Patel got off to a flying start, and credit to the guys for their end overs bowling. We asked this question before the start, saying why can't we win every game? We play Seattle in a couple of days, we rest up for a bit in this short turnaround, and go again.

Nicholas Pooran (MI New York captain): "A tough day for us, we did not execute out plans with the ball. Kieron Pollard came on later and showed how to do it. We got off to a good start, but then, a few dot balls here and there and we slipped. It's challenging from here, other teams are playing well too, so, we have to get our acts together and take it one at a time."

A fine effort this from San Francisco Unicorns. They have been doing a fine job and now have managed 5 wins in 5 games. They are truly a red hot unit and now will step a foot into the knockouts with only a couple of more wins from here on. For MI NY, this happens to be their fourth loss in their campaign, and they will want to correct this losing record and get on the right track soon.

The inaugural champions had a fine start when they managed to get 75-odd in the powerplay. The pair of Monank Patel and Quinton de Kock scored runs at a good rate, with Monank getting to his second 50 this season as well. However, following the wicket of the USA skipper, things went downhill. QDK’s scoring slowed down, and things got tougher in the middle overs.

In the end, there was too much pressure on the middle order, and they crumbled under the pressure of getting a big total. Kieron Pollard, playing his 700th T20I, did a fine job coming in late number four, but it was his misfortune or the moment in the game that he couldn't get enough strike in the middle and finish the game off like he did in his heyday.

The bowling performance from SFU will be the talking point. Throughout, they built pressure on the MI NY batters and did a fine job. Romario Shepherd, in his last over, struck twice and ensured that MI New York had no way to come back, as did Xavier Bartlett, with his twin strikes in the end. Liam Plunkett and Haris Rauf were expensive but both managed to pick up a wicket each.
