Nottinghamshire failed to cross the line in the last few inches and Hamsphire have somehow managed to sneak in to the finals day. This match had its ebbs and flows that kept swinging from one end to the other end in the final few overs. At one stage, Notts looked like they will walk over this match easily but Hampshire came back well to pick heaps of wickets in the 2nd half of the chase to pull things back into their control.  Losing Alex Hales early on in the innings, Hampshire kept things tight as the pitch also seemed to support the slower bowlers with some grip and turn. Ben Duckett's unfortunate run out has turned things for Hampshire as they picked few more in the next couple of overs. Apart from top 3, other batters failed to apply themselves and created a tumbling of wickets in a short span. Matthew Carter struck few big blows in the final couple of overs but that didn't prove to help them as he ran out of partners leaving him stranded at the other end only to see his team lose by 2 runs.

Hampshire didn't have the best of the starts with the new ball after giving away more than 50 runs inside the powerplay. They slow bowlers pulled things back into their favour. Especially, Mason Crane and Liam Dawson, who came back to bowl their 2nd and 3rd overs have given the crucial breakthroughs to bring them back into the game. Dawson picked 3 wickets while Crane had 1 to his name. Scott Currie and Brad Wheal picked two each and that helped them in a great fashion.

This win takes Hampshire to the finals day and the defending champions, Nottinghamshire are knocked out of the competition. With two more Quarterfinals to be played, the semifnal line up is not yet decided but we can expect some high quality matches on the finals day.
Notts have been beaten by a cracker of the contest against Hamsphire and they are out of the competition for this season. Hampshire won the match by 2 runs and are through to the finals day.
19.4 B.Wheal to D.Paterson, EDGED AND GONE! Hampshire win by 2 runs! The Outlaws will not be defending their title this year! Full outside off delivery from Wheal and Paterson nicks it to the keeper trying to slash the ball on the off side!
3 dots and number 11 on strike yet. This match has been a perfect nail biter for everyone! Who will have the last laugh?
19.3 B.Wheal to D.Paterson, played towards midwicket for no run. Excellent bowling. 3 needed from 3 now.
19.2 B.Wheal to D.Paterson, Full delivery on the stumps, Paterson hits it towards mid off, Carter starts running at the other end and there was hesitation. A fumble from Vince means the batsmen survive!
19.1 B.Wheal to D.Paterson, blockhole delivery from the bowler first up, Paterson somehow survives the ball! Pressure, pressure, pressure!
Brad Wheal to bowl the final over of the match. Can he do it for his team and take them to the finals day?
Couple of big hits from the bat of Matthew Carter and that just turned the match into their favour, though not completely with just last wicket remaining and the number 11 batter on strike to the first ball of the final over.

18.6 C.Wood to M.Carter, slower delivery on the pads pitching the ball fuller. Carter tries to guide it down the fine leg region but misses out
18.5 C.Wood to M.Carter, SIX! SIX MORE! Another short delivery outside off stump, Carter shuffles across and smashes the ball over the cow corner region for another maximum
18.4 C.Wood to M.Carter, low full toss outside off stump, pushed towards sweeper cover region for two more runs
18.3 C.Wood to M.Carter, SIX! Slightly shorter from the bowler this time. The ball was going away from the stumps and Carter capitalized on the room offered to smash the ball over the cow corner region for a maximum
18.2 C.Wood to M.Carter, length delivery outside off stump, Carter tries to play it through the covers but gets an inside edge only
18.1 C.Wood to M.Carter, length delivery outside off stump, slashed towards cover by the batsman for no run
Chris Wood to bowl the 19th over.

17 required from 12 balls and Notts lost another wicket though they scored a biggie in that over. All lies with Carter to finish the game for them or they, the defending champions, are out of this competition.
