So, that is it from this game. Scotland have got a big win and see themselves at the top of their group. Yes, they have played an extra match than Australia. But they will be happy with the position they are in. This is Probuddha Bhattacharjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Pradeep. Do tune in tomorrow for the South Africa vs Bangladesh match from T20 World Cup 2024.
Richard Berrington (Scotland Captain): Yes very pleased with the performance today. It was important to come here today and put or best and get the win. We have put ourselves in a good position here. The spinners did a good job there and specially towards the back end the bowlers did a good job. It was the first game on this ground. We were happy in the half-way stage with the target ahead. I think for a successful chase, we needed to be good at the top. If we lost a couple of early wickets, it would have been tricky. We all now what a classy player Brandon McMullen is and happy for him getting that Fifty. A big game to come for us and we will be looking to give our best in that.
Aqib Ilyas (Oman captain): It was a good toss to win, we started off well in the powerplay but we couldn't finish well. It was a kind of the track, 170 was something gettable and would've given us more runs to defend. In the batting we have to prove, we played a lot of dot balls, even the set batters. 150 was a good target, if we keep dropping the catches, you can't do much and the batters will make us pay for it. Pratik played very well, all the others are also quality players, but these are days, sometimes are up and sometimes down, we have to back our players. Just they have to stay positive, we take only positives, we are upset after this game, we might come back on top next game. We want to end in a good note against England.
Brandon McMullen is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: It's very chuffed out there, good to get the win for the team. It was a quite short boundary with the breeze, as a group we decided, that was the key element to the game, using the breeze to our advantage and paid off well today. Not sure where it has come from, but I did play Hockey when I was a kid, probably from there. Main priority was to win the game, at the drinks break we decided to have a crack at the net run-rate. Very confident, going into the Australia game, done really well as a group, this was much needed and keep raising the bar as we go forward.
Match End!!! Oman - 150/7 (20 Overs) Scotland -153/3 (13.1 Overs) Scotland win the match by 7 wickets.
Scotland have managed to win this game convincingly and add a great impetus to their net run rate in the process.
Earlier, Oman won the toss and opted to field first. Courtesy of a steady knock by Pratik Athavale and a late flourish by Ayaan Khan, Oman managed to reach 150/7 in their 20 overs.
With the bowling attack of Oman, it was expected that they will pose some threat to Scotland. They started off wel with the early wicket of Michael Jones. However, George Munsey had a different mind. He scored 41 runs off 20 deliveries and put Scotland in the driver's seat.
After the dismissal of Munsey, Brandon McMullen carried on his good work and did not let the momentum slip way. He remained unbeaten on 61 off 31 and ensured that Scotland got home comfortably by seven wickets.
This big win for Scotland have made the journey of the defending champions, England even more difficult from here.
THAT IS IT!!!!! Scotland have earned a convincing win here. They have won the match by seven wickets with 41 balls remaining.
13.1 Bilal Khan to Brandon McMullen, FOUR! MCMULLEN HITS THE WINNING RUNS! Scotland have romped home in just 13.1 overs, they now top the table of Group B! Short into the batter, McMullen walks down the track and smashes it with a swipe behind square, leaves no chance to the sweeper as they seal the game with a boundary.
So, just a couple of runs needed now. This win for Scotland will put England's qualification in the rut.

12.6 Ayaan Khan to Matthew Cross, OH! Short outside the off-stump, Cross reaches to cut that one hard but misses, through to the keeper.
12.5 Ayaan Khan to Matthew Cross, SIX MORE! Back to back sixes and Scotland are doing it in a canter here. Length delivery on the middle and leg. Cross walks across off-stump, sits on one knee and smashes it over deep backward square-leg for another maximum.
12.4 Ayaan Khan to Matthew Cross, SIX! Now Cross gets into the act, he looks in a hurry too. Length delivery outside the off-stump, Cross reaches for it and pummels it over deep square-leg for another maximum.
12.3 Ayaan Khan to Brandon McMullen, spears a short delivery outside the off-stump. McMullen slapped it just wide of the bowler's left to long-off for one.
12.2 Ayaan Khan to Brandon McMullen, SIX! BAM! McMullen is unstoppable here. Short on the middle and leg. McMullen sits on one knee and clobbered it way over deep backward square-leg for another maximum.
12.1 Ayaan Khan to Matthew Cross, short and just outside the off-stump. Cross presses, steers it to backward point for one.
Ayaan Khan, Left-arm Orthodox, comes into the attack.
So just 22 needed for Scotland off 48 balls. In other news - India have defeated Pakistan by 6 runs.

11.6 Aqib Ilyas to Brandon McMullen, OH DEAR! How did that miss the off-stump? Absolute ripper from Ilyas. Short on the off-stump, McMullen went back to play but that straightens to beat the outside edge to the keeper.
A brilliant Fifty by McMullen. His aggressive approach ensured that Oman were never allowed a window during the chase.
