Indian captain Virat Kohli has the best batting average in T20 World Cup matches. The right-handed batter has scored 777 runs in 16 innings at an average of 86.33.
Daren Sammy has the best batting strike rate in T20 World Cup history. The former West Indies captain scored 215 runs in 18 innings at a strike rate of 164.12.

Dwayne Smith holds the record for the best batting strike rate in one T20 World Cup innings. He scored 29 runs off 7 balls against Bangladesh in 2007, batting at a strike rate of 414.28.
Chris Gayle has scored the most number of hundreds (2) in T20 World Cup matches. The West Indies batter scored his first century against South Africa in 2007, and the next one came against England in 2016.
Virat Kohli has recorded 10 fifties in T20 World Cup matches, the most by any player. He has never got out for a duck.
Mahela Jayawardene hit 111 fours for Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup, the highest by any cricketer. Jayawardene also smashed 25 sixes.

He played that knock in the first-ever T20 World Cup match, and to date, Gibbs holds the record for the most fours by a batter in a single T20 World Cup innings.
Chris Gayle has whacked 60 sixes for the West Indies in ICC T20 World Cup history. No other batter has even hit 35 maximums.
Chris Gayle also holds the record for the most sixes in one T20 World Cup innings. He smashed 11 sixes during his 48-ball 100* against England in 2016.
Shakib Al Hasan is the leading wicket-taker in T20 World Cup matches. The Bangladesh player scalped 41 wickets in 31 matches.
Sunil Narine has the best economy rate in T20 World Cup history. The West Indies spinner conceded 231 runs in 44.4 overs at an economy rate of 5.17.

Nuwan Kulasekara holds the record for the best economy rate in an ICC T20 World Cup innings. He bowled a spell of 2-2-0-1 against Netherlands in 2014 and had an economy rate of 0.00.
Ajantha Mendis holds the record for the best bowling figures in an ICC T20 World Cup match. He bowled a magical spell of 6/8 against Zimbabwe in 2012.
Ajantha Mendis also owns the record for the best bowling strike rate in ICC T20 World Cup history. The Sri Lankan spinner had a strike rate of 13.4 in 21 matches.
Paul van Meekeren is number one on the list of best bowling strike rate in a single innings of a T20 World Cup match. The Netherlands bowler had a strike rate of 3.00 against Ireland in an ICC T20 World Cup 2016 match at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. He bowled 12 deliveries and scalped four wickets.
Samuel Badree has the best bowling average in T20 World Cup history. The West Indies spinner scalped 24 wickets in 15 matches. He bowled 59 overs and conceded 326 runs. His bowling average was 13.58.
Former Sri Lankan all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya has bowled the most expensive spell in ICC T20 World Cup history. Playing against Pakistan in the Super 8 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 in Johannesburg, Jayasuriya returned with figures of 0/64 in four overs. His economy rate was 16.
The highest number of 5 wicket hauls by one bowler in T20 World Cup matches is 1. Seven bowlers namely, Mustafizur Rahman (Bangladesh), James Faulkner (Australia), Umar Gul (Pakistan), Ahsan Malik (Netherlands), Rangana Herath, Lasith Malinga and Ajantha Mendis (Sri Lanka) have taken a 5-wicket haul each in the T20 World Cup.
Indian cricket team’s off-spin bowler Harbhajan Singh has bowled the most maiden overs in T20 World Cup history. A maiden over is an over where a bowler does not allow the batters to score a single run. Singh bowled four maiden overs in 18 innings for India.
The Sri Lankan cricket team has scored the most runs in T20 World Cup history. The islanders have participated in all T20 World Cups played so far and scored 5,223 runs in 36 matches. Pakistan and England are the other two teams with more than 5,000 runs in the tournament.
Bangladesh and Pakistan jointly hold the top spot on the leaderboard of teams with the most wickets in T20 World Cup history. Both Asian teams have taken 213 wickets each. Sri Lanka are 3rd with 206 wickets.
The West Indies team holds the record for the most centuries by a team in T20 World Cup history. Caribbean batters have recorded two centuries. Interestingly, both have been scored by Chris Gayle.
