This was the first time in eight years that KKR played without the services of either Andre Russell or Sunil Narine. And it wasn't a happy outing for them. The new captain Eoin Morgan has got his task cut out. Suddenly, their batting order doesn't seem to be in the best of nicks to create match-winning performances. They have some tough questions to answer as the teams from the bottom four come grasping at the fourth position where they currently are. Today was just a day to forget for them. It will be best for them to just forget about what happened and take the next match coming.

RCB has had a perfect day out today. Not only have they attained the two points, but they have also got a huge boost to their net run rate. They are in that zone right now where they require just one more win to seal that position in the playoffs. Then it will be all about securing that first or second position.

Over the seasons, it is the bowling unit of RCB that has always looked vulnerable. And this attack, especially after the inclusion of Chris Morris, looks like a complete one finally. They have got a settled eleven now and look good to go all the way.
Mohammed Siraj has been adjudged the Man-of-the-Match!
Siraj admits that he had no idea that he was going to share the new ball with Morris. He has certainly been practising with the new ball and was happy to get an opportunity to bowl with that. Of the three dismissals tonight, Siraj says he enjoyed the one of Nitish Rana the best.
Virat Kohli says he was happy to lose the toss. He would have batted first as well seeing the dryness on the track. But he says that the pitch just got better under lights.

The initial plan was to open the bowling with Washington Sundar, says Kohli, but it was a sudden decision to turn to Mohammed Siraj. And that surely paid off. He commends Siraj about the amount of work he has put in. Kohli says that Siraj has really put the hard yards in the nets and it is now showing off.

Kohli admits that the addition of Chris Morris has been a welcome change. He has brought in a lot of energy in the team. He loves responsibility and takes the youngsters along with him. The never say die attitude and the energy that he brings on the field is contagious.

The RCB skipper says that the management has clear plans for every game this year and it has really helped coming into each match.
As expected, RCB has cruised to victory here. There was a hiccup when they lost both the openers in the space of three balls, but captain Virat Kohli along with Gurkeerat Singh Mann ensured that there were no more casualties. The paltry target of 85 was just not enough to pose any kind of threat.

Both the openers started cautiously to ensure that there were no early wickets giving a sense of hope to KKR. Once that was achieved, Padikkal started playing a bit of shots. Finch was dismissed first for 16 and then Padikkal was run out for 25. Virat Kohli and Gurkeerat Singh remained not out on 18 and 21 respectively.

Lockie Ferguson bowled the best among the KKR bowlers. He also remained the sole wicket-taker. It was a bit surprising that he wasn’t given the new ball, especially considering that he was the player of the match in the previous game. The rest of the bowlers were economical, but the only way KKR was coming back into the game was by taking wickets, which did not quite happen.
Eoin Morgan says that the early loss of wickets was the turning point in the game. RCB bowlers bowled well, but he feels that the batsmen had to take on the challenge. Morgan feels that looking back, he should have fielded first, especially taking the dew factor into consideration.

The management had thought about Tom Banton opening the batting. But the Indian batsmen at the top have shown promise and had some good performances, which prompted them to slot him at 4.

Morgan concedes that the non-availability of Sunil Narine and Andre Russell has left a huge hole in the line-up. He is hopeful that they will be available sooner rather than later.
Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets with 39 balls remaining!
13.3 Prasidh Krishna to Virat Kohli, length ball outside off rising sharply, Kohli rides the bounce and guides it down to deep third man for a couple of runs. That will wrap up proceedings here as RCB complete a dominant win over KKR by 8 wickets!
13.2 Prasidh Krishna to Virat Kohli, no run, yorker on the off stump, Kohli jams that straight to the fielder at mid-on.
13.1 Prasidh Krishna to Virat Kohli, length ball on the off stump, Kohli shuffles across and flicks that to deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs. Scores Level!
Gurkeerat tried to play some shots and get to the target, but it did not come off. And we go into yet another over with RCB requiring just 3 runs to win.

Prasidh Krishna into the attack.
