A clinical batting performance from the duo of Sarel Erwee and Jacques Snyman have kept the Protea Champions side in the competition. The latter was promoted up the order to give the South Africa Champions side a good head-start in a stiff run-chase, and he proceeded to do just that. Snyman took the attack to the hapless Pakistan bowlers, who weren't helped one bit by the conditions.

There was a bit of joy early on for them once Sohail Khan got JP Duminy out, but Sarel Erwee then came and began playing himself in as Snyman went on to make the most of the 6-over powerplay. South Africa Champions kept going along at more than 10 an over throughout the middle overs - barring the overs of Shahid Afridi - as Erwee began freeing his arms more often.

Erwee took the mantle of attacking eventually - he unleashed an array of slogs and slashes and registered the first hundred in the competition. Pakistan's fielding left a lot to be desired - again, the wet conditions didn't help them one bit. Wahab Riaz and Sohaib Maqsood suffered injuries owing to the same, and the Pakistan Champions were humbled eventually as Jacques Snyman took his side home with a couple of towering sixes.
