The colour of the pitch is darker and it is a bit tacky. A score of 160-165 should be a good score batting first. Spinners will have a say later on. But the team that does well in the power play, wins!"

10:22 PM local time (10:22 PM IST): Bangladesh have created history to end this multi-format tour to Sri Lanka! For the first time, they have won a T20I series in Sri Lanka and were the better team in the series by some distance. Litton Das' captaincy had a lot going for the visitors and is a big reason why they were able to clinch victory. That will do it from Colombo. You can switch tabs to catch the India Women in action against England Women at The Rose Bowl, right here. For now, this is the pair of Meeth and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Litton Das (Bangladesh captain and Player of the Series, 114 runs in 3 matches): "I can't express myself in words at the moment! The boys showed a lot of character to bounce back from the first loss. I would have batted, definitely! Here in Colombo, you bat first, simple. But, we have a good bowling attack to make it count. We were pretty impressive on the whole! I didn't think it was not tough to pick Mahedi Hasan over Mehidy Hasan Miraz tonight. It was only based on the surface. It is not that Mehidy is a bad bowler or anything, but the surface suited Mahedi more."
Charith Asalanka (Sri Lanka Captain): (On the decision to bat first) My thinking actually was to put up a good score and defend. But I think I misread the pitch. I think the ball gripped better in the first half. We could have done better with our batting by taking more responsibility. At the moment, this is the best combination we have. We trusted them, and we know how much improvement we need before the World Cup. A huge disappointment to lose the series, but it's a sport, and it can happen. We'll try to make a comeback.
Mahedi Hasan (Player of the Match): No, I wasn't under pressure. I know Sri Lanka's batters. Played two ODI games. The ball was spinning and I could plan well against the batters.
10:05 PM local time (10:05 PM IST): Bangladesh win by 8 wickets with 21 balls to spare and take the series, 2-1!
Tanzid Hasan 73* (47) | Mahedi Hasan - 4/11 (4) Pathum Nissanka 46 (39) | Kamindu Mendis - 1/21 (3)
The very first delivery of the run chase produced a wicket, and Bangladesh started to think, "Here we go again!"
But then, things were steadied, and how! Out came in-form skipper Litton Das, and started batting sensibly. Tanzid Hasan at the other end, gave him good support.
There were a few heart-in-the-mouth moments of course, but Bangladesh continued to bat intelligently. Then came a lofted front-foot cover drive from Tanzid and suddenly, he flicked the switch to play some more lofted shots to fuller-length deliveries, for either four or six!
The impressive 50-run partnership for the 2nd wicket got broken when Litton played an unnecessary slog-sweep to long-leg. But that did not stop Tanzid in his tracks, as he brought up a well-deserved fifty!
Towhid Hridoy then strung together an unbeaten 50-run stand with Tanzid and got the job done! Yes, Tanzid did offer a catching chance to deep cover in between, but otherwise, it was a near-perfect run chase for the visitors to win it!
Sri Lanka were far from where they wanted to be! They tried to take wickets, but the bowling was lacking sustained pressure. There was turn on offer for the spinners, but the lengths in particular were off. The fielding too was sloppy. And the captaincy tonight from Asalanka left a bit to be desired. He could have tried Dasun Shanaka for an over, but that did not happen.
So, it is now four wins at this venue for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka out of five and this one, seals their first series win against the home side!
Litton Das becomes the 1st Bangladesh captain to win 2 T20I series away from home.
16.3 Maheesh Theekshana to Towhid Hridoy, BANGLADESH SEAL THE SERIES 2-1! A quick, flat delivery on off stump, gets a faint edge while punching to mid-on, and they get through for the winning single. Historic day as Bangladesh claim their maiden T20I series triumph over Sri Lanka!
16.2 Maheesh Theekshana to Towhid Hridoy, length delivery on the stumps, pushed back to the bowler.
Scores are level.
16.1 Maheesh Theekshana to Towhid Hridoy, SIX! Quicker delivery on the pads, Hridoy gets down and sweeps it beautifully, just clearing the ropes at square leg! Scores are level now
Maheesh Theekshana [3.0-0-23-0] comes back into the attack.
So Vandersay finishes his wicket-less spell. He did get the ball to turn, but, Bangladesh managed him pretty well tonight.

A loud call of "Wait!" by Hridoy.
15.1 Jeffrey Vandersay to Towhid Hridoy, leg break on a good length outside off, Hridoy reaches out and cuts it firmly to backward point.
