Commentary

That was sheer domination from the Jamaica Tallawahs in the 7th match of the competition after making light work of the target of 157 set by the Patriots. Brandon King was on the charge right from the word go and got good support from Brooks and McKenzie. Patriots have an opportunity to get back to winning ways tomorrow. Like always it was a pleasure bringing all the live coverage of the match for all you people. Cricketing action continues with lots of cricket matches slated to be played throughout the day but for now this is myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) biding you goodbye.

Brandon King (Jamaica Tallawahs captain): Yeah, the Pakistani contingent has played superbly. Salman has bowled brilliantly and his action makes it a bit difficult. I wanted to bring Salman in early and he got three wickets in his first over which made a significant difference. Won't say the pitch changed a lot. Me and Kirk had a clear plan. We tried to get off to a quick start and make it easy towards the end. It comes from consistency and approach. In the Caribbean, you have to access the conditions but it is working very well for me. Enjoying my captaincy. Haven't lost a game yet and hopefully that trend continues.

Evin Lewis (St Kitts and Nevis Patriots captain): Unfortunately we didn't get the start we wanted. The top order faltered but I am still happy with the middle order. It was a bit two-paced. The dew was pretty much heavy today. It changed a lot in the 2nd innings. With the dew batting became easier in the 2nd innings. We didn't went pretty bad. I will always back my bowlers. We didn't come out triumphant but I will keep backing them. We have a game tomorrow and we will look to be confident and keep showing confidence to the bowlers.

Salman Irshad (Player of the Match): First of all thanks to God. I bowled in the good areas and success followed. Last three years I have played a lot of T20 cricket in flat wickets in Pakistan. I am a T20 specialist in Pakistan and in the PSL. I just stick to bowling good lengths. Imad bhai has been with me for a long time and that gave me a lot of confidence.

That turned out to be a thoroughly all-round performance from the defending champions Jamaica Tallawahs as they brushed aside hosts St Kitts and Nevis Patriots convincingly by 8 wickets to register their 2nd win of the competition. Riding on a sensational knock from Brandon King and able support from Kirk McKenzie and Shamarh Brooks, the Tallawahs managed to reach the target in the 17th over.

King and McKenzie came out with a positive intent and wanted to make full use of the powerplay. King played some beautiful shots right from the word go and looked in ominous touch all through his blistering knock. The opening pair shared a 52-run stand before the departure of McKenzie in the final powerplay over. The wicket didn't slow King down as he kept smashing the Patriots bowlers all around the park. He waited for the slower deliveries and dispatched anything in the slot.

He went on to smash his fastest T20 fifty off 23 balls. The carnage continued and after a dodgy start, Shamarh Brooks also came into his own. King's knock of 67 came in 33 deliveries which was studded with 7 fours and 4 sixes. After the departure of King, it was Brooks and Amir Jangoo who finished it off for the Tallawahs. Brooks remained unbeaten on 38 off 31 deliveries which included 2 fours and as many sixes while Jangoo smashed a couple of sixes and remained undefeated on 17.
