Sunrisers Hyderabad 201/6 (20 ov)
Kings XI Punjab 132/10 (16.5 ov)
Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 69 runs.
Player of the match: Jonny Bairstow
Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Kings XI Punjab by 69 runs

Kings XI Punjab would have fancied their chances after restricting Sunrisers to a total of 201 after the initial onslaught by Warner and Bairstow. However, the KXIP inning never got going as Mayank Aggarwal was run out in the second over, courtesy a false call from skipper KL Rahul who himself never looked in any sort of rhythm throughout his painful 16-ball vigil at the crease.

It was the West Indian Nicholas Pooran who showed any sort of resolve to take the fight to the SRH camp by blasting one SIX after another. He smashed the youngster Abdul Samad for 28 runs in an over and gave slender hopes to the KXIP dugout that the mountain of 202 could be chased. Unfortunately, the big show--Glenn Maxwell ran himself out at the other end and wickets kept tumbling thereafter, leaving Pooran alone in the middle.

He refused the singles to keep the strike to himself but against the bowling of bowler of pedigree like Rashid Khan, he too perished and so did the hopes of KXIP to get back to winning ways. The team at the bottom of the points table has gone 4 matches without any win.

KL Rahul and Anil Kumble surely will have a lot of problems to address in the dressing room. SRH were clinical in their bowling as everybody chipped in with useful contributions, however, it was Rashid Khan that stood out as star-performer. He finished his quota of 4 overs with astonishing figures of 4-1-12-3 and ensured that SRH chokehold the mighty batting lineup of KXIP.

So that's it from our side, this is Abhinav Singh and my partner Prashanth Satish signing out. Do join us tomorrow at the same time here at Sportskeeda where we bring to you accurate and the perfect analysis of the game along with ball by ball commentary. Till next time, stay safe, stay indoors and keep washing your hands. Goodnight fellas!
KL Rahul: I think when we lose wickets in the powerplay, it's always going to be tough and getting Mayank run-out was a disaster. We kept losing wickets after that and it was one of those days where everything (aerial shots) went into the hands of fielders. The last five games we've been struggling in the death overs, but we pulled things back, else 230 was on the cards. Pooran is so good to watch, he's hitting proper cricket shots. If we get a decent job at the start, he can do the job for us later. He's (Ravi Bishnoi) always enjoyed those situations, that's great to see for a youngster.
16.5 T Natarajan to Arshdeep Singh, OUT! CAUGHT BY WARNER! Full-length ball outside off-stump and Arshdeep drives that straight to hands of Warner at mid-off to end proceedings. SRH win by 69 runs
16.4 T Natarajan to Arshdeep Singh, full again in the blockhole and the batsman can only defend it back to the bowler.
16.3 T Natarajan to Arshdeep Singh, full-length delivery outside off-stump played to mid-off for no runs.
16.2 T Natarajan to Sheldon Cottrell, OUT! BOWLED! Yorker right on the money and it ended up being too good for Cottrell who is late to bring his bat down and finds his stumps all over the place. Natarajan has been the undisputed yorker-king this season and he is showing what he can do at the death!
16.1 T Natarajan to Ravi Bishnoi, full-length ball in the blockhole and Bihsnoi makes room and guides it to backward point for a single.
At this stage, it looks like a lost cause for KXIP as the tail-enders are merely looking to play the last 4 overs. T Natarajan to bowl his final over. The required Run Rate has climbed over 17. Pretty impossible for the likes of Cottrell and Bishnoi
Over: 16 | Summary: 0 0 4 0 1 0 Bowler: Sandeep Sharma Score: 131/8
15.6 Sandeep Sharma to Sheldon Cottrell, fuller delivery on stump line and Cottrell defends that back to the bowler to end the over.
15.5 Sandeep Sharma to Ravi Bishnoi, short delivery and Bishnoi pulls it away to fine-leg for just a single.
15.4 Sandeep Sharma to Ravi Bishnoi, short of a length delivery and Bishnoi is late on the pull shot and is wrapped on the helmet but he is back on his feet. CLASSIC! You hit a fast bowler over his head! He will come back with a bouncer!
15.3 Sandeep Sharma to Ravi Bishnoi, FOUR! Length ball on stump line and Bishnoi swings through the line of the ball to pick up a boundary. The leggie won't go down without a fight!
15.2 Sandeep Sharma to Ravi Bishnoi, slower ball a touch fuller and Bishnoi plays the classic forward defence for no runs. Confident from Bishnoi.
15.1 Sandeep Sharma to Ravi Bishnoi, full-length ball on stump line defended back to the bowler for no runs. Remaining KXIP batsman should try to go as close to the target or otherwise the Run Rate would take some beating.
Pooran going the hara-kiri route of not taking the singles and paying the ultimate price for it! He should have looked to rotate the strike. With him, the chances of a KXIP win have gone out in smokes, to say the least. Shami wouldn't have made a difference. Rashid Khan finishes his quota of four overs with a wicket-maiden and envious figures of 4-1-12-3.

At this stage SRH were 160/0. Sandeep Sharma to bowl his final over! The asking run rate has gone over 15.
Over: 15 | Summary: 0 0 0 0 W W Bowler: Rashid Khan Score: 126/8
14.6 Rashid Khan to Mohammed Shami, OUT! GOOGLY! Length delivery spins into Shami and he can't get bat on that and is wrapped on the pads. Rashid with a double-wicket maiden, what a champion bowler!
