India at the Commonwealth Games Results, 4 August 2022: Day 7 - Sudhir wins gold, Sreeshankar wins silver & more

Right then, that brings us to the end of the coverage from Day 7 of the Commonwealth Games 2022. Sudhir clinches a gold medal in the Men's Heavyweight Para-Powerlifting Final, while Sreeshankar bagged a silver medal in the Men's High Jump Final.

The Indian Men's Hockey Team finished atop the Pool B points table and made it to the semi-finals. Moreover, most of the Indian paddlers, shuttlers and squash players tasted success in their Round of 32 matches whereas a few tasted defeat as well. It was a day full of mixed emotions for the Indian contingent with several ups and downs.

Despite Sudhir failing to lift 217kg in his final attempt. He finishes at the top with 134.5 points and ends India's 2-day long wait for a gold medal. His best of 314.5 is a Commonwealth Games Record as well.

He registers a foul jump in his final attempt. However, he clinches a SILVER MEDAL FOR INDIA! What a comeback from the Indian athlete.

Sanil Shetty & Harmeet Desai thrash the Cyrpus pair 11 - 1 in the third game to register a comfortable victory. The Indians were too hot to handle from the start and eventually, Cyprus' paddlers have to accept their defeat.

Reeth Tennison comes through a tricky encounter against Bardsley and enters the round of 16. Apart from a couple of tight games, this was a fairly comfortable victory for the Indian who will now look forward to making a deep run.
