That's all we have from this game tonight, after a terrific point for East Bengal. They will now look to kick on from this, as they have set the standard for the kind of defensive performance they need to show. Tomorrow, ATK Mohun Bagan play against Hyderabad FC at Fatorda. Do join us for that one. Until then, this is Aaditya Narayan signing off. Good night!
FULL-TIME: SC East Bengal 0-0 Jamshedpur FC
Jamshedpur hit the bar twice through Eze and Lima, but the story of tonight is the East Bengal defence. Mohamed Irshad and Sehnaj Singh were outstanding at the heart of the defence, and the likes of Scott Neville, Narayan Das and Mohammad Rafique put their bodies on the line when they had to. It was a terrific backs-to-the-wall display for most of the game from East Bengal, who could have stolen it at the end, too, had they made a few better decisions when they were away on the break. In the end, though, having played with ten men for 65 minutes of the game, Robbie Fowler will be delighted with that point.
90 + 6' PEEEEEPPPP!! And that's full-time, and East Bengal have their first ever ISL point!
90 + 4' Jamshedpur make a late change here, as Karan Amin comes on to shore things up at the back
On - Karan Amin Off - William Lalnunfela
90 + 2' Dinliana has been sent off now, that's a second yellow card! Clear red card, that, as that was a terrible tackle from behind on Maghoma.
90 + 1' Great play from Maghoma, who checks past Eze, and then gets past Monroy as well. The midfielder has brought him down, and East Bengal have a free-kick in a good area.
90' Jamshedpur have six minutes of injury time here, as they look to break down the stubborn ten men
88' Free header for Eze! That's a great delivery from Monroy, and Eze has gotten up brilliantly, but his header has gone well over the bar, and Debjit can just watch it sail over him.
87' Jamshedpur now have a corner, as a long throw-in is cleared behind by Pilkington who gets above Eze to win that header.
86' The corner is taken by Narayan and cleared. Angousana then plays a cross towards Neville, who has fluffed a header from close range. He has been called offside by the assistant referee, though. Replays show that the East Bengal defender wasn't offside.
85' East Bengal have a corner now, as Pilkington's chipped ball looks to find Maghoma, but is cleared behind by Ricky.
84' Alex Lima wastes a terrific opportunity. Jamshepdur break lines with the pass through to Lima. But he looks to keep cutting in and take a shot eventually, but he could have found Valskis with the early pass. The eventual shot has gone well wide of the target.
83' The corner is well cleared by Eze, and then as Jamshedpur look to clear it further, Angousana blocks the path of the ball with his arm. He is booked.
82' East Bengal have a corner now, and break down the right through Pilkington and Neville. The captain's cross looks for Maghoma but Hartley clears it behind for a corner.
82' Valskis is becoming increasingly frustrated as he is being starved of the ball. This time, Sehnaj is fouled by the big striker, as the Lithuanian pushes him.
79' Rafique is booked for time-wasting, after delaying the throw-in enough to annoy the referee
78' The first thing that happens after the water break is, err, you guessed right. Dinliana skews another cross straight through to the goalkeeper Debjit.
75' It's time for the cooling break now. Jamshedpur have 15 minutes to find a goal now, against an increasingly resilient ten-men of East Bengal.
71' Dinliana has not got his crossing radar right tonight. He's hit another cross straight out for a goal kick, and East Bengal can relieve the pressure off themselves.
70' Isaac! Valskis finds Jacki on the overlap, and he puts a deep cross over for Isaac. He cuts inside on to his right foot, and tries to curl one past Debjit, but it has gone wide.
69' Jamshedpur have hit the crossbar again! And this time, it is Alex Lima! Monroy's set-piece is headed away by the East Bengal defence to the edge of the box, where Lima makes clean contact with a left-footed strike that has Debjit beaten, but the ball has clipped the top of the bar.
68' Jamshedpur now have a free-kick in a very decent area, after William goes down under Irshad's challenge. Fowler is furious with the decision, but that did look like a foul.
66' Time for Jackichand now, and he will come on to replace Mobashir
On - Jackichand Singh Off - Mobashir Rahman
62' That's two wasteful crosses from Dinliana in the space of a minute. The first one hits the first man, and then a few seconds later, he doesn't get his foot around the ball and it has gone straight behind, to relieve the pressure on East Bengal.
61' The change is now made in goal for East Bengal.
On - Debjit Majumder Off - Sankar Roy
58' Sankar has gone down now, with what looks like a problem in his thigh area. They look like they will be making the change at the moment, with Debjit Majumder going out to get himself warmed up.
58' Dinliana is booked, but that looks harsh as well, even though it was a foul.
55' William is berating the referee for not giving Jamshedpur a penalty now! Narayan slides in to block the cross, and does it successfully. William is convinced, though, that the East Bengal man has blocked the cross with his arm.
51' Jamshedpur have a corner now, but that is after more good defending from East Bengal. Irshad won the first header, and put it out wide. then Dinliana looked to cross it, but Narayan blocks it and it goes behind.
48' That's a superb cross from Isaac towards William, which Narayan gets in the way of. Irshad then clears the danger away for the time-being. Good defending from East Bengal.
46' PEEEEPPPPP! East Bengal gets us back underway for the second half of this game.
Both teams have made substitutions at half-time. Isaac replaces Aniket for Jamshedpur. Jeje goes off, and is replaced by Angousana, for East Bengal
HALF-TIME: SC East Bengal 0-0 Jamshedpur FC
Once again, the refereeing has taken centre-stage in the ISL this season. Eugeneson Lyngdoh has been sent off, to reduce East Bengal to ten men. The sending off was harsh, with the challenge that led to a second yellow card debatable as to whether it was even a foul or not. Jamshedpur have had the best chances so far, but East Bengal are still getting into good positions even after being reduced to ten men. An intriguing second half awaits.
45 + 3' PEEEEPPPP!! That's half-time, and an eventful half ends without a goal.
45 + 1' Maghoma's free-kick is cleared by Hartley and then Dinliana heads it further away towards Rafique. His shot has gone high, and has nearly cleared the stadium.
43' Maghoma is furious with the referee, as he pulls play back for another foul without playing the advantage. These are the basics of officiating that are being messed up here. A sorry sight to look at, if we're being totally honest.
42' Superb run from Pilkington! After Jeje holds Hartley off and lays off a pass to the captain, he dribbles from the halfway line and into the box. HIs cross-cum-shot, though, doesn't do enough to trouble Rehenesh, who holds on to it easily.
41' Sankar saves! That's a nice set-piece delivery from Monroy, which Valskis gets the header from. It's not a particularly powerful one, and it isn't going into the corner. So Sankar can hold on to that easily.
38' Eze has belted a header onto the crossbar! The corner is brilliantly delivered by Monroy, and the Nigerian centre-back has attacked that ball brilliantly, and made superb contact on his header. Sankar is rooted to his spot, but the ball has thudded on to the crossbar. East Bengal survive.
36' Sensational piece of skill from Steinmann in midfield! He roulettes past Monroy, and then skips past Eze, but has no options in front of him, and has to come backwards. That sums up the problems that East Bengal have in this game.
30' That's time for the cooling break in the first half, and East Bengal have all the thinking to do. Jamshedpur will look top push on with the man advantage that they have already.
29' Oh what a strike from Valskis, what a volley! It was superb play between Lima and Monroy that set them away first, and then they found Mobashir out on the other flank. He finds Dinliana on the overlap. His cross goes towards Valskis, and his volley has gone just wide of Sankar's goal.
24' That's a second yellow card for Lyngdoh! That is a harsh decision from the referee, Lyngdoh's challenge on Lima looked fair, as he got the ball first, before catching a bit of the man. That is another contentious decision, and another one that has gone against East Bengal.
23' Why has the referee called that free-kick for East Bengal? William was offside from Aniket's cross, but the ball fell to Maghoma and he was in plenty of space, where he could have driven forward. But the referee has not given the advantage.
20' Lyngdoh has gone into the referee's book, for a bad challenge on Dinliana. That free-kick is met in the box by William, but his header has gone well wide.
20' Good work from Rehenesh! That was an excellent play from Pilkington for East Bengal, as he managed to bring down a ball that and evaded both Ricky and Eze, before a superb chipped pass through towards Jeje, but Rehenesh is quickly off his line, and claims it.
16' Lima dispossesses Steinmann and then races forward, before slipping it through to William who is through on goal, but that is a sensational sliding challenge from Irshad, who denies a certain goal.
15' That's two brilliant pieces of skill from both Maghoma and Steinmann that don't come to anything. Maghoma gets through two Jamshedpur defenders, but Hartley gets in the way. Then in the second phase of that attack, Steinmann steams past Eze, but Monroy tracks him back and makes a good tackle.
12' Ricky plays the ball down the line, and Aniket gets to it and keeps it in with a decent bit of skill. His cross is cleared by Neville, but only as far as Mobashir. Once again, he lacks composure and takes a snapshot with his left foot which goes wide.
9' Pilkington swings in a free-kick, which is easily cleared by the Jamshedpur defence. The ball goes out wide to Rafique, who dribbles past Aniket, and is brought down by the young attacker, who is booked.
6' Oh what a chance! Aniket has fluffed his lines from an easy chance! Valskis wins the initial header, and then William plays it to Mobashir, who slides a superb through-ball to Aniket. With the goal at his mercy, Aniket puts his shot well over the bar.
2' Chance! Monroy's free-kick is towards Eze, but Irshad clears, even though it is only as far as Mobashir on the edge of the box. His shot is blocked by Narayan, and goes behind for a corner.
1' "Not a million miles away" from William! Aniket looks to swing a ball in behind the East Bengal defence, and William made a run in from the right flank. The pass is touch overhit, and Sankar comes out to claim it.
1' PEEEEPPP! Jamshedpur FC get us underway in this game.
The anthem has been sung, and the team photographs have been clicked. In a couple of minutes, the ball will be set rolling fo rMatch 23 of ISL 2020-21.
And now, it is the turn of Anthony Pilkington and East Bengal to walk out and line up alongside Jamshedpur FC. It will soon be time for the Indian National Anthem.
Peter Harley leads Jamshedpur FC out on to the pitch here at the Tilak Maidan.
Jamshedpur do look a fairly settled side, but this is a big opportunity for Aniket Jadhav tonight. Starting alongside Valskis could be a blessing for the young man, given that a lot of East Bengal's attention is likely to be on Jamshedpur's top marksman.
East Bengal are without a point or a goal thus far in the ISL this season. Jamshedpur are buoyant after a terrific win over ATK Mohun Bagan last time out. On paper, this game is only going one way. But when has sport even conformed to such norms? This is a massive, massive day for SC East Bengal, who desperately need the points.
Lyngdoh, Jeje and Rafique in for the first starts of the season and there is a change in goal, with Sankar Roy replacing Debjit. After three games, Fowler's faith has come undone, and the axe has fallen on the likes of Balwant and Surchandra
