Jos Buttler (POTM): It is a fantastic start for us. We had a really good season last year but it counts for nothing this year. (Whether he pre-meditates stuff) Little bit, try to plan a little but also react according to the conditions and put pressure on the bowlers. (Whether he does anything differently with his pull shot off spinners) Not particularly, keep a clear mind and try to react.

Sanju Samson: Yeah absolutely. I was wondering how we will start the season, very happy. Having a bat like Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal, we can expect that with the mindset they coming in. We definitely are a very good side but you have to keep the heads down and follow the process. We know that things can turn around at any point. Wanted to finish the innings off well and feel we did pretty well. There should be strengths and there will be weaknesses too. We will find out as the tournament goes on!

Yuzvendra Chahal: The way we started, especially Jos bhai and Jaiswal, we knew 200 was a good score as it was difficult to hit when the ball gets old. I always back myself, some plans work and my plan was to bowl stump to stump. Nothing new, I back my skills, sometimes I get wickets, sometimes I don't.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: We need to forget this performance and move on, but there's also positives that we can take from here, we pulled things back at the backend well. There was something in the wicket, when you bowl with the spinners but they batted well, it's just the first match of the season and it's a long way to go. There are South African players are coming back, we need to move forward from this match. It was a pretty good track, generally what we get in Hyderabad, we're not worried about what the wickets bring in.

Trent Boult dented early blows to SRH in a huge chase with the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi. There was a bit of partnership between Mayank Agarwal and Harry Brook but Yuzvendra Chahal spun his web to trap SRH's middle and lower middle order wickets.

Chahal picked 4 for 17 from four overs to send a reminder that he is the holder of the Purple Cap of the previous season. SRH were never in the chase after losing early wickets with no batter showing any intent.

There were some big shots only displayed in the last two overs when the match had already settled in Rajasthan's pocket. SRH finished at 131 for eight at the end.

Earlier in the game, Royals top-order batters provided impetus to post a healthy total like 203/5. Jos Buttler( (54) Yashasvi Jaiswal (54) and Sanju Samson (55) slammed brisk fifties.

SRH wins toss

Sunrisers Hyderabad stand-in captain Bhuvneeshwar Kumar won the toss and elected to field first. England's emerging player Harry Brook will make his debut in the IPL as he was named in SRH playing XI.

Rajasthan and Sunrisers have played 16 matches in eight seasons. Both teams have won eight times each and this will be the opportunity to outsmart one another.

Markram replaced Kane Williamson as the skipper of the Hyderabad franchise following his success with its sister franchise Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the inaugural edition of SA20.

However, the South African won't feature in the first game owing to national commitments. Senior pace bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead SRH against Royals.
