WWE SmackDown Live Results: June 5, 2018, Live Results and Commentary

***Spoiler Warning: The following contain spoilers for tonight's episode of SmackDown live

Here's a recap of everything that happened tonight on SmackDown Live:
Asuka def. The Absolution in a 2 vs 1 Handicap match

With that, another action packed episode of SmackDown Live comes to a close. This is Jojo, signing off.

Big E hits the Miz with the midnight hour and get the three count.

The New Day def. The Miz, Samoa Joe & Rusev

The Miz carries in a plate of pancakes to humiliate The New Day and ends up dropping them on his own team mates. Rusev takes Miz down and Joe hits him with a senton before they both leave Miz alone in the ring.

Rusev takes an overhead belly to belly suplex on Rusev and Samoa Joe hits a big move on Big E. Rusev was ouside and Woods hit a suicide dive on the Bulgarian. Big E took out The Miz with a spear through the ropes. Samoa Joe hit the coquina clutch on the outside and Rusev delivered a Machka kick. The Miz sent Big E shoulder first into the ringpost.

The Miz set up for a Superplex but Woods hit Miz with a flying dropkick. Rusev took out Big E outside the ring. Miz and Kofi went at it in the ring. Kingston hit a dropkick, an SOS and a big drop. Miz caught Kofi with a DDT but only got a nearfall.

We return to see Woods in a submission move from The Miz, Woods reached out for the pin but the A Lister held him down to the mat.

Samoa Joe comes in and hits Big E with a belly to belly suplex. Joe hit a Samoan drop on Woods as we cut for commercials.

The New Day vs. The Miz, Samoa Joe & Rusev

Miz unloads on Xavier woods in the corner. Woods dodged the forearms and hit an elbow. The New Day takes turns delivering moves to The Miz in their corner.

Sin Cara was backstage and Andrade Cien Almas attacks him after Zelina says Almas doesn't owe him any respect.

Big Cass ends with - someone as tiny as Bryan cannot survive in a big man's world.

In the ring, Renee asks Big Cass about his upcoming match with Daniel Bryan. Cass thinks nothing of Bryan and reminisces about his time in NXT when he saw Daniel Bryan with the newly crowned WWE Champonship and thought 'how could he the champion? He says Bryan's championship run and his victory last week over Cass was a fluke.

Cass says Bryan has never been in the ring with a star of his caliber. He says he'll rip his arms of and hit him in the head with them and snap his tiny legs. He goes on mocking Bryan for a while.

Backstage, Samoa Joe is being interviewed and say he keeps his promises; pointing out that he got himself qualified for the MITB ladder match and retrieved the briefcase after his qualifier match. He said he'll break the spine of every other contestant in the match.

After the match Becky and Charlotte hug it out before Flair left the ring and Becky celebrated her victory.

Becky was rolled up by Charlotte but managed to kick out. Becky went outside and Charlotte took flight for a suicide dive. She followed up with a moonsault in the ring and Becky got her knees up. Becky delivered the disarmher on Charlotte making her tap out and got the victory.

Becky Lynch def. Charlotte

Charlotte hit a back breaker and managed to get a near fall. Becky went up to the top rope for a leg drop but it was only a 2-count.

Charlotte caught Becky with some stiff chops and Becky went for uppercuts. Charlotte hit a suplex on Lynch.

Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch

Becky checks Charlotte early and escapes the ring. Charlotte went for the figure four but Becky countered. The catch each other by the leg but call a truce and let go before taking each other down as we cut for commercials.

AJ gets visibly angry saying he's had it with the games and hits Nakamura in the face before being escorted out. Nakamura takes a pen out of his jacket, signs the contracts and says 'Last man Standing', smiles and leaves.

The contract signing commenced backstage between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE World Championship Match at MITB. AJ says Nakamura only uses cheap tricks because he knows he is not good enough in the ring.

They begin to sign and Nakamura says his pen is out of ink. Paige offers him another but he wants AJ's. AJ gives him the pen and Nakamura says it's broken, throwing it away.

Uso hit English with a superkick to the throat and got the pinfall.

Jimmy Uso & Naomi def. Aiden English & Lana

Naomi tries to go for the tag and Lana stops her before they knock each other out. They make the tags and Uso takes out English with knees to the head.

Naomi hit Lana with a dropkick and Lana replied with a couple of elbow drops.

Lana is in control and bounces Naomi's head on the mat before sending her face first into the bottom turnbuckle.

Lana and Naomi were in the ring and Lana caught Naomi with double knees to the back of the head,

Jimmy Uso & Naomi vs. Lana & Aiden English - Mixed Tag Team Match

English rapped some nonsense before Lana danced herself to the ring. The men are starting off the match and English caught Jimmy in a headlock before breaking into song. Jimmy caught him in the throat and English called for a time out, tending to his vocal chords. Lana and him took the Uso family off-guard and were instead thrown out of the ring by Jimmy. Naomi delivered a suicide dive to the to as we cut fr commercials.

Naomi appeared in a video package with her husband who invited Lana to the Uso penitentiary. Their mixed tag team match with Lana and Aiden English is next.

Harper vs Karl Anderson

Harper is in control and drives Anderson into the mat. Anderson was cornered and managed to roll up Harper and get a quick pin. Karl Anderson got the three count with an easy win.

They poured pancake batter in the hat and The Miz, blindfolded put his hand in it. Miz gets angry and walks out.

Backstage Miz shows off Miz-jitsu and The New Day come up to him to apologise for messing with him for the last few weeks. They said they want him to pick a name from a hat to pick who will be in the MITB ladder match.

Carmella walked up to the ring and flaunted the Women's Championship in front of Asuka and Mandy Rose attacked Asuka from behind and Carmella hit her with the belt.

Asuka caught DeVille in the Asuka lock and DeVille tapped out.

We returned to see Mandy take two more dropkicks from Asuka and a hip attack to DeVille. Deville and Asuka managed to knock each other other with high kicks and the oficial started counting.

DeVille delivered a spear but it was only a near fall from Asuka

Mandy went for a pin but only got a near fall. Asuka hit Mandy with two rear ends and went up to the top turnbuckle for a dropkick. Carmella taunted Asuka from ringside and DeVille took advantage of it by hitting Asuka from behind as we cut to commercials.

DeVille managed to catch Asuka in a flurry of right hooks and called in Mandy for help. They hit Asuka with a couple of double team moves in the corner before Mandy caught her in a headlock.

Asuka vs. The Absolution - 2 vs 1 Handicap match

Asuka and DeVille kicked us off. Mandy tagged herself in but Asuka didn't break a sweat. DeVille was back in the ring and was caught in a knee ar but she reached for the bottom rope. Asuka took her down with a dropkick.

Asuka finished her entrance and Mandy Rose makes her entrance along with Sonya DeVille. She says she was a second away from beating Asuka last week. She says she can beat Asuka tonight; Sonya intervenes and says she too can beat Asuka tonight.

SmackDown GM Paige makes her entrance to settle the dispute. She offers Asuka her choice of opponents, Asuka says she wants both. Our first bout is a handicap match between Asuka and Mandy Rose & Sonya DeVille.

Carmella claims that "Mella is money" and the crowd erupts into boos. Carmella claims literally everybody is ready for Asuka and The Empress of Tomorrow makes her entrance.

We cut to a video package about Asuka leading up to WrestleMania and Carmella says that's not the real story. We cut to different promo reel where she took repeated losses, claiming that Asuka has lost her edge.

SmackDown kicked off with an appearance from Carmella who claimed to reveal the truth about her MITB opponent, Asuka.

We have two big segments already confirmed for SmackDown tonight. AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura finally sign the contract for their match at MiTB as well as a blockbuster match between best friends Charlotte and Becky Lynch. We will also see husband and wife team Naomi and Jimmy Uso face Lana and Aiden English. Could we also see three Superstars make their SmackDown Live television debut?

What else can we expect from SmackDown tonight? We can expect more in the Daniel Bryan and Big Cass saga. We will also get to see the story between SmackDown's 4 men's MITB competitors grow. We will also get another look at Andrade 'Cien' Almas. As far as the SmackDown Tag-Team Championships go, we could see the Bludgeon Brothers confront the Good Brothers, Gallows and Anderson.
