WWE SmackDown Live Results: May 15, 2018, Live Results And Commentary

Things heat up on SmackDown Live as Money in the Bank storylines develop further.

Here's a recap of what took place tonight on SmackDown:

Daniel Bryan was being interviewed by Renee when Big Cass interfered and Bryan made Cass tap out
The New Day (Xavier Woods & Big E) def. The Bar and will be participating in the MITB Ladder Match
Becky Lynch vs. Mandy Rose vs. Sonya DeVille was set for tonight as a qualifier for the Women's MITB ladder match.
Andrade Cien Almas def. Jake Constantino after his SmackDown debut
Sonya Deville debuts new theme song
Becky Lynch def. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville and will be participating in the MITB Women's Ladder Match
Shinsuke Nakamura def. AJ Styles and will choose the stipulation for the upcoming MITB World title match

Nakamura mocked a fallen AJ Styles in the closing moments of SmackDown as the show ended. This is Jojo signing off after yet another action packed show, hoping that good things are in store for Nakamura and Style's MITB title match.

Nakamura caught AJ with a reverse exploder and finished him off with a Kinshasa before getting the pinfall.

Shinsuke Nakamura def. AJ Styles

Nakamura hit Styles with the Kinshasa but to no effect as AJ kicks out at 2. The second Kinshasa was blocked by AJ with a heel kick. Styles fails to get the Styles clash though.

Nakamura took a big pele kick on the top rope as the battle continued. They were on the apron and Nakamura blocked the suplex and delivered a knee to head dropping Styles on the apron.

Nakamura drops AJ with a huge kick to the face for a near fall. He administers a submission move on the champ.

Nakamura countered AJ's sliding knee but failed to even get a 2 count in the ring as we headed into another commercial break.

Nakamura blocked the suplex but walked into a back breaker form AJ before rolling out of the ring. AJ hit a big suicide dive to a forearm and wiped out what was left of the King of Strong Style.

Shinsuke Nakaumura vs AJ Styles - winner will pick the stipulation for the WWE World Title Match at MITB

It's the first time that these two are facing off on SmackDown. AJ took a kick to the mid section but delivered a huge dropkick to Nakamura.

Mandy caught Becky in a suplex but Becky got out of it and delivered a Dis-arm-her on Mandy who tapped out.

Becky Lynch def. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville.

Mandy went for a strategic pin on Becky but the Lass kicker kicked out. Sonya broke up a pin from Mandy and threw her outside before trying for the pin herself.

Sonya is back in control and continues her asssault on Becky. Becky retaliates with a few big moves but took a knee to the head.

Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville vs. Becky Lynch
Mandy was thrown out of the ring early and Sonya took control. Becky tried to attack Sonya but Mandy interfered from behind. Mandy tried to catch Deville in a roll up as we head into commercials.

Sonya Deville has a new theme song!

Backstage, Shinsuke was asked about his upcoming title match with AJ Styles and Nakamura schooled Renee about which words to use when referring their match; Nakamura said he will win with certainty and not possibility.

The Mellabration began with the appearance of Carmella in a brand new outfit and she wanted the audience to shower her with praise. She claimed she's better than any woman in WWE, even the greats like Lita and Torrie Wilson. Paige cut the ceremony short to announce her title match with Asuka at MITB.

Backstage, Rusev and Aiden English were talking when Lana shows up. She says she has a MITB qualifier match against Billie Kay next week.

Andrade Cien Almas vs. Jake Constantino

Almas made his SmackDown debut against a local talent by the name of Jake Constantino. Andrade put the pressure on early and send Jake into the corner with some stiff kicks. He followed up with the trademark double knees into the corner and went for the Hammarlock DDT. Almas got a quick pin and won his debut match on SmackDown.

AJ Styles is backstage with Renee and says no stipulation can stop him from winning his match at MITB against Shinsuke Nakamura.

Mandy Rose and Sonya DeVille appeared backstage and demanded a MITB qualifier match from Paige and the SmackDown GM granted them a triple threat match against each other and Becky Lynch.

Becky Lynch vs. Mandy Rose vs. Sonya DeVille has been set for tonight as a qualifier for the Women's MITB ladder match.

After the match, The Bludgeon Brothers show up and challenge their fellow SmackDown tag teams to compete with them.

Big E wiped out Sheamus with a spear through the middle rope sending him outside while Xavier hit Cesaro with a huge elbow drop[ from the top rope, bagging the win.

The New Day (Xavier Woods & Big E) def. The Bar

The Bar hit Big E with a double super kick and then a double DDT. Cesaro went for a submission while Xavier took out Sheamus outside. Woods returned to the ring and hit a DDT for a near fall.

Xavier sent Cesaro over the ropes and outside and then tagged in Big E. E steamrolled Sheamus but failed to capitalize.

Cesaro was caught in a rollup but kicked out of it. He caught Woods in a submission again but Xavier broke out of it. The Bar delivered another double team elbow drop maneuver and Xavier seemed to be in trouble.

Cesaro was tagged in as he and Xavier traded punches before catching the New Day member in a headlock. Xavier reached for the tag but Sheamus stopped it.

Xavier Woods & Big E vs Cesaro & Sheamus

Cesaro and Sheamus hit a big double team move on Xavier and followed up with a double clothesline. Xavier was on the outside when Sheamus dragged him in and administered an arm lock.

Th Miz came out to join the commentary team followed by the New Day who will be facing the Bar.

Bryan makes Cass submit with a heel lock and the officials have to break it up. Cass retreats limping.

Daniel focuses on Cass' knee as the officials break it up. Bryan uses the post to do more damage on Cass.

Daniel Bryan kicked off the show with an interview with Renee. Cass interfered and Bryan attacked Cass after lots of taunting.

Andrade 'Cien' Almas makes his main-roster debut:
A much-awaited debutFormer NXT Champion Andrade 'Cien' Almas will finally make his main roster debut at the O2 Arena tonight along with manager Zelina Vega.It will be interesting to see what plans WWE have for Almas, but a debut near the top of the card could help Almas become the Latin star WWE has been looking for since Rey Mysterio left.

Another interesting question regarding Almas is whether he'll debut as a face or a heel. SmackDown is currently heel heavy which could leave to Almas debuting as a babyface.

New Day take on The Bar:
The New Day will take on The Bar on SmackDown tonight with one member of the winning team earning a spot in the men's Money In The Bank ladder match.This could lead to some interesting scenarios, especially if The Bar win.

Could we see animosity between Sheamus and Cesaro to decide who will be in the MITB ladder match if they win?

A Royal Mellabration:
Carmella announced a Royal Mellabration for this week's episode of SmackDown, less than a week before the Royal Wedding. With Charlotte absent tonight, who could step up to RNF Carmella's celebrations?

UK Superstars to be on 205 Live after SmackDown:
WWE have already announced that a host of UK Superstars, including WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne will be on 205 Live tonight after SmackDown goes off the air.

Apart from Pete Dunne, we could see the likes of Mark Andrews, Trent Seven, and Joseph Connors.We could also see former WWE UK Champion Tyler Bate return from injury. Bate has been nursing a knee injury.

Stipulation for Nakamura vs Styles at MITB to be revealed:
AJ Styles beat Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania, leading to Nakamura turning heel and low blowing AJ. Their next two matches ended without result and they will face each other for a fourth time at Money In The Bank.

WWE have already announced that a stipulation for the match will be revealed tonight. The only question now is, what will the stipulation be?
