Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropeza, better known by his ring name Andrade Cien

Almas is a Mexican professional wrestler currently fighting under the SmackDown

brand at WWE. Previously, he has also fought for Consejo Mundial de Lucha under

the name La Sombre (Spanish for ‘The Shadow’).

Early Life and Career

Andrade Cien Almas made his debut in the professional circuit a month before

turning 14 under the name Brilliante Jr after his father Jose Andrade Salas aka

Brilliante. Before joining WWE, Almas has been a triple champion of the circuit,

holding the Mexican National Trios Championship, CMLL World Tag Team

Championship and NWA World Welterweight Championship together.

Andrade Cien Almas also participated in New Japan Pro-Wrestling before making his

way to WWE. Here he was selected as La Sombre in 2010 to be the CMLL

representative of NJPW’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

Career at WWE

At WWE, Almas made his ring debut at an NXT house show in Tampa. In November,

2018, he defeated Drew McIntyre, whom he had also faced previously, to become

the new NXT Champion. He went on to successfully defend his title against Johnny

Gargano at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia. In April, 2018, Almas and his manager

Zelina Vega were both drafted to SmackDown where he had his first feud with

former ally Sin Cara.

Almas experienced his first loss in the main roster by the-then champion AJ Styles.

His last match has been against Braun Strowman in 2019 Royal Rumble.
