02:01 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

That'll do it for our live coverage of WWE Friday Night SmackDown on FOX, thanks for joining us. Be sure to come back for our coverage of RAW on Monday.

01:59 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Orton takes the microphone and questions The Bloodline, trying to intimidate him. He goes over his accolades and says he will boot and RKO Tama Tonga next week in Saudi Arabia. Randy was fired up as the show came to an end.

01:58 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Randy Orton will have a Backlash France rematch next week, albeit with a twist. Instead of tag team action, he'll be going one-on-one with Tama Tonga in the King of the Ring Tournament semi-finals.

Cathy then gets in the ring to interview Orton, but Tama Tonga's music hits. The new Bloodline then makes its way out, with Paul Heyman trailing it.

01:56 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Orton goes for the RKO, but Carmelo slides out and rolls Randy up. He tries holding the ropes, but it doesn't work. The two go back and forth, and Carmelo hits the ropes for a Springboard again, only to eat an RKO out of nowhere! Wow, that was beautiful. This one is over.

Randy Orton defeats Carmelo Hayes by pinfall.

01:55 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Melo tries to take advantage and punt Orton, stealing Randy's classic move, but Randy had it scouted. He then gets a nearfall followed by attempting the rope-draped DDT. Melo gets out of it and hits Orton's knee before hitting The First 48 for a nearfall!

Carmelo again goes after the knee, ripping apart the tape to remove it. From there, he climbs for Nothing But Net, but Orton moves! The Viper hits the draping DDT shortly after that but is in too much pain to capitalize.

01:53 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Following the final break of the night, Carmelo Hayes is in control and targeting Orton's leg. He hit a big springboard clothesline during the break. The crowd chants "Randy," but Melo stays in power, going after Orton's left leg. He hits repeated kicks, and Randy is clearly in pain. Notably, the leg is taped up. Was Orton hiding an injury?

The "Let's go, Randy" chants start, but Melo stays on Orton's leg like a pitbull. He goes for a pump kick, but Orton moves out of the way, and Melo gets hung up on the ropes. Orton then hits repeated clotheslines. He goes for a powerslam, but Carmelo holds onto the ropes, and Orton spins anyway, hurting his injured leg.

01:49 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Randy Orton hits several European uppercuts and then tosses Melo to the floor. He goes for the backdrop on the table, but Melo counters it and brags. Orton then sweeps Melo's leg, but he still falls hard on the table. Randy then drops the backdrop properly, not once, but twice! Loud "one more time" chants, and he does it again. Orton is in full control.

From there, we go to presumably the final commercial of the night.

01:47 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

The commentators put over Carmelo's brashness, mentioning how much he talks himself up backstage. He and Orton lock up, and Carmelo gets the brief advantage and slaps Orton in the back of his head. Orton is in disbelief, and Carmelo pushes Randy, only to get kicked and clubbed. Orton then throws Carmelo into the ring post TWICE! Wow!

01:46 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Carmelo Hayes makes his way out next for this main event. Main eventing SmackDown again, for the second time since being drafted, is extremely impressive. His entrance and theme are great, too.

Carmelo Hayes vs. Randy Orton

How will these two mesh? This should be interesting to see.

01:43 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Promoted for SmackDown next week:

- Bianca Belair vs. Nia Jax.
- Tama Tonga vs. Carmelo Hayes or Randy Orton.

01:43 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Following that break, Bayley is backstage with Byron Saxton. She is quickly interrupted by Piper Niven and Chelsea Green. They start talking smack, and Bayley says they don't have time to chat right now but will do it next week. Could Bayley vs. Chelsea Green happen on SmackDown next Friday?

01:39 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

AJ's frustration is a little worrying. Could it lead to retirement or a teased retirement?

Randy Orton is extremely over as he makes his way to the ring. Orton was shown attending a UFC show this past weekend. He then signs an autograph for a fan, but they turn around before Orton can give them a fist bump. A fan left him hanging! That was hilarious; he fist-bumped her friend instead.

Orton will be in action after the break.

01:37 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Next, Byron Saxton is with AJ Styles. Byron mentions that it has been a challenging few weeks and asks where AJ goes from here. AJ asks the same thing. AJ recaps his recent losses and asks where he goes from here. Styles then says he's going to Nick Aldis' office next week, and they'll figure it out from there. He seems sad and desperate.

From there, Randy Orton's music hits! It looks like it's just about main event time!

01:36 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Corey Graves brings up the QR codes and technical glitches likely related to Uncle Howdy. Corey apologizes before throwing to the bizarre Twitch stream from yesterday. We get highlights of the therapist incident. Corey says they have more questions than answers and alludes to remembering what happened last time this took place.

01:35 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

From there, DIY hit the Meeting In The Middle out of nowhere and pin Berto! This one is over!

DIY defeats Legado Del Fantasma by pinfall

DIY may have just earned themselves a title opportunity. They staredown A-Town Down Under as Legado look on angry.

01:34 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Ciampa gets it, and Johnny Wrestling runs in, hitting big strikes. Gargano is called "The Mechanical Marvel" by Corey Graves, which may be his new nickname. I like it.

Johnny hits a Slingshot spear on Berto and then dives on Angel to the outside. Gargano climbs the ropes, but Santos Escobar causes a distraction. This allows Elektra Lopez to cheat and crotch Johnny. The referee then sees what could have happened and ejects Lopez and Santos.

01:33 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Back from the commercial, Ciampa goes for a tag, but Berto pulls Johnny down and prevents it. Tommaso tries to fight back, but Angel and Berto hit an excellent Garza Special double-team move and a running dropkick. A-Town Down Under is laying it thick on commentary, belittling DIY. This may be the direction.

Ciampa and Berto go back and forth, attempting suplexes, and Tommaso gets it. The crowd is ready for the tag, and Johnny fires up!

01:29 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Back in the ring, Tommaso hits a big chop on Berto, but a blind tag causes a distraction, and when Tommaso hits the ropes, Angel pulls them down, and Ciampa goes through, crashing hard to the mat. We then get a brief teaser for Uncle Howdy, or so it seems.

From there, we go to another commercial.

01:28 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Johnny and Berto trade some wrestling, followed by Berto hitting a big suplex. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller praise each other on commentary as Gargano counters a move and takes down Berto. He then hits a Rana as a DIY chant starts up. Tommaso tags in, and they double-team Berto with kicks in the corner. They then hit big strikes on both members of Legado, sending them to the floor.

From there, DIY hits stereo suicide dives and clap their backs on the apron which the fans love.

01:26 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Back from the commercial, DIY is making its way out. Tommaso Ciampa looks a little angry, but both stars hope to make a splash. A-Town Down Under is on commentary for this one.

DIY vs. Legado Del Fantasma

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa will take on Angel and Berto. "Johnny Wrestling" chants sound off as the match starts.

01:22 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

The crowd is furious but the two keep fighting. The fans chant BS over this but they keep going anyway. Referees and various officials then come to break things up as the fans chant "let them fight'. Things are very heated between these two.

We then go to break as officials try to get things under way.

01:21 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Jade makes Nia pay, pulling her away. They fight into the ring then back out. Jade tries to charge into Jax and slam her into the ring post, but Nia moves and Jade hits hard. Nia then clotheslines Jade over the barricade and begins clearing off a table.

Nia takes a chair and attempts to hit Jade but Cargill stops it. She then angrily takes the chair and smashes Nia in the back. The referee disqualifies her! This one is over!

Nia Jax defeats Jade Cargill via disqualification

01:19 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

We're back from the break, and Jade Cargill makes her entrance to a big pop from the crowd. She is so impressive.

Jade Cargill vs. Nia Jax

This will be interesting. The two face each other, and Nia knocks Jade down with a strike. Jade fires back and sends Nia to the floor. Jax then tosses Jade hard on the ground. She goes over to her daughter, and Nia pulls Jade away before yelling at Jade's child!

01:13 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Backstage, Cathy Kelley is with Nia Jax. Nia shuts Cathy down when talking about Jade. Nia says she's impressive but won't be Queen of the Ring. Nia says she will be the new Queen of the Ring and storms out for her match.

We then get an excellent one-shot of her walking through the gorilla and out to the crowd before the commercial break begins.

01:11 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Logan says he's worthy of everything he has and tells Cody to sign the contract. He throws the paper at Cody, and Rhodes stands up and gets angry. He calls Logan a fly-by-night human hat rack. He says the honeymoon with Logan is over and that after their match, he will find out who Logan is on the inside. Cody says in eight days a WWE Hall of Famer will knock Logan's brother out alluding to Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul, then says a future Hall of Famer will beat him, referring to himself.

Logan goes to cheapshot Cody but gets sent to the floor. Rhodes punches one of Logan's friends and powerbombs him through the table!

01:08 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Cody interrupts and says he knows what happens when Aldis gets angry and says Nick is doing a great job. Cody says let him and Logan finish up the paper work and he'll bring it by his office. He's trying to relieve Nick of the tense situation and Aldis accepts, walking out. Logan and his entourage tease Nick as he leaves.

Logan says he signed the contract and its done.

01:08 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Logan Paul reveals that he never agreed to put his United States Title on the line, so he had a lawyer draw up a new contract with WWE Title on the line.

Nick Aldis said he's had enough of Logan and his entourage, calling this bad business. The lawyer then takes the microphone and asks Nick if he's threatening his client. That's hilarious.

01:06 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Logan says Cody is saying everything the last guy says, accuses him of stalling, and reveals that he didn't come here to hear Cody talk. The fans start giving Logan Dominik Mysterio-level heat and booing over him as he speaks. The crowd then loudly chants, "You suck". Logan says what a horrible crowd, which causes him to get booed even more.

The Maverick says there's one little thing about the contract, and he rips it up instead of signing it. Loud "he can't read" chants are hilarious.

01:04 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

As a reminder, Jacksonville is AEW country, where Cody's career took off post-WWE. His being so over here is excellent to see. Cody asked Logan Paul if he knew what happened here 32 years ago. Cody then says that 32 years ago, to the day, it was War Games 1992.

Cody says he knows this because he is like the fans; he is a fan. Rhodes says Logan isn't a fan. Cody then calls Logan a tourist passing through and making viral memories.

Rhodes says it's time for Logan to get off the train and drop the United States Championship. This way, Cody can become a grand slam champion.

01:01 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

The crowd sings Cody's theme and hits a loud "WHOA." Cody's pyro then goes off. He is suited and booted, dressed like a million bucks. Once he gets in the ring, Logan Paul looks annoyed and keeps talking smack to his entourage. Cody is getting an incredible reaction; the crowd is LOUD for him. Wow.

00:59 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

In the ring, Nick Aldis is here, and he introduces Logan Paul! Paul comes out with seemingly a lawyer, and goofs were Prime shirts. Nick then introduces Cody Rhodes, who gets massive applause from the fans! Yeah, the champion is a big deal.

Unlike Logan, Cody comes out on his own.

00:57 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Returning from commercial break and WWE hypes up WrestleMania 41, which will take place next year in Vegas. Then we see LA Knight mad backstage and Carmelo Hayes shows up and mocks him. This leads to Knight pushing Melo. Charles Robinson gets between them and Jamie Noble soon helps separate the two stars. Another potential teaser.

00:52 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

The Bloodline poses together on the ramp, and Solo pretends to put a crown on Tama's head. Later tonight, he will face the winner of Carmelo Hayes vs. Randy Orton.

After the break, we'll see Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul's contract signing.

00:50 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Back in the ring, Knight hits a pop-up powerslam and a big elbow drop, which gets a massive pop from the crowd. His shoulder is bloody! I wonder what got him. BFT chants as Knight prepares to hit it, but Tonga Loa pulls Tama to the floor. Knight hits a dropkick through the floor and levels him. Solo and LA Knight then have a staredown.

Knight gets back in the ring and eats a Flatliner. Wow, this one is over!

Tama Tonga defeats LA Knight via pinfall

That was a huge upset!

00:49 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Back from break, Tama Tonga is back in full control. He repeatedly stomps on LA Knight, and the "We Want Roman" chants start again. The crowd will be behind The Tribal Chief when he returns. Tama smirks, and the crowd boos him as Solo claps. Tonga climbs to the top for a splash, but LA Knight moves! Knight gets up, counters a punch, and starts hitting Tonga repeatedly.

Tama cuts Knight off with a kick, but The Megastar comes back with a big clothesline. He then does another, sending Tama to the floor. Knight repeatedly slams Tonga's face against the apron as the crowd chants "YEAH!" for each one.

00:44 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Knight is thrown to the floor, but he goes back in and nails Tama. He then hits a big back body drop. He hits his YEAH! Stomps in the corner and a running knee, but then Solo Sikoa and Tonga Loa cause a distraction. This allows Tama to get up and attack Knight, throwing him into the ring post. Tama then hits a running clothesline off of the stairs onto the floor.

LA Knight is out on the mat while Solo claps for Tama. We then go to break.

00:43 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Loud "LA Knight" chants as Solo and Tonga Loa leave the ring. The bell then sounds and Tama immediately goes after Knight. LA ducks and hits several jabs and a back elbow. The crowd chants "yeah!" for each strike. Tonga then puts on a sleeper and the crowd boos. Tama is thrown to the mat and Wade calls the noises Tonga made backstage "animalistic growls".

Knight throws Tama into the ropes and Tama rebounds with a huge clothesline. Loud "We want Roman" chants then start.

00:41 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Back from break, Corey and Wade plug NASCAR and C4 energy. From there, we return to the ring with The Bloodline awaiting LA Knight. The Megastar's music hits the crowd explodes. Man, he is so over still.

LA Knight vs. Tama Tonga

How will this go down? Either man could win, which is exciting. Wade Barett calls Knight the people's choice for king.

00:36 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Tama Tonga makes his way out with The Bloodline. His entrance is very cool, but the music feels somewhat lacking. A better theme would take it to the next level.

He will battle LA Knight after the commercial break!

00:34 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

From there, we see LA Knight talking to Cathy. He says he doesn't recognize this Bloodline, but he'll drop 'old Tommy," aka Tama Tonga on his head tonight. Carmelo Hayes then interrupts and discusses being a first-round draft pick.

LA Knight takes a shot at Melo and compares himself to Tom Brady. Carmelo says that after tonight, the most important letters in WWE won't be RKO; they'll be H-I-M. Knight then mocks him and does the LA Knight chant.

From there, Tama Tonga's music hits!

00:33 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

After the Bianca and Jade segment, we get a recap of Solo Sikoa claiming he has spoken to Roman Reigns and is in charge. This happened last week. From there, we go to The Bloodline's locker room, and Tama Tonga is making weird goblin-like noises. Solo says it's time to go. Paul Heyman then asks if Solo has talked to "him" today, alluding to Roman. Solo says all the time. Interesting.

00:30 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Back from the commercial, WWE celebrates the military. From there, we go backstage with Byron Saxton and Jade Cargill. Byron brings up her match with Nia, and Jade says Nia is one of the best, a beast, and an irresistible force, but for Jade, she's just in her way. Bianca then shows up, and Jade congratulates her.

Jade asks how her knee is, and Belair says it's okay if they have to stand across from each other next week. Another teaser and another potential dream match!

00:25 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Backstage, Logan Paul is shown walking backstage and going to Nick Aldis' office. He opens the door, and LA Knight walks out. Logan and Nick have a staredown. This could be a blockbuster feud, and WWE may have teased it. Nick Aldis told Logan to join him in his office, stopping anything from happening between these two top stars.

What a teaser.

00:22 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Bianca Belair is speaking with Cathy Kelley after the match. Loud EST chants are heard as she acknowledges her bad leg. She then says that next week, injury or not, nothing is stopping her from becoming Queen of the Ring. It is interesting that she acknowledged the potential injury.

From there, we go to a video package highlighting Cody Rhodes' segment with Nick Aldis and then Logan Paul last week.

00:20 (GMT)18 MAY 2024

Tiffany goes up for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, but Bianca gets up and crotches her! Belair then hits the K.O.D. on one leg, and this one is over!

Bianca Belair defeats Tiffany Stratton via pinfall

This was a bit of a surprise, as many believed Tiffany would win the tournament. Bianca could face her tag partner next week if Jade defeats Nia Jax.
