The greatest thing about Joe Rogan is his detailed and nuanced commentary. The way he reads fighters and breaks down each of their moves showcases his genius.

Calling a fight between Bobby Green and Jacob Volkmann at UFC 156, Rogan displayed an amazing sense of awareness and practically coached a fighter to victory.

Bobby Green was trapped in a tricky situation in close proximity to Joe Rogan's commentary position, having given up his back to Jacob Volkmann. With Volkmann looking to submit Green, Joe Rogan started narrating what the UFC debutant needed to do to escape to safety.

"Chop that right leg over the top of Jacob Volkmann's left. He (Bobby Green) is trying to do it; he's looking for the time to do it but what he's worried about... There, he did it," Joe Rogan said during his commentary.

As a result, Bobby Green was able to escape Volkmann's hold and transition to full mount instead. He eventually submitted Volkmann a minute later, who was slightly mad at the expert MMA commentator.

#3. Joe Rogan rips "criminal" UFC 247 judging

Jonathan Martinez and Andre Ewell faced each other at UFC 247 in February 2020. Martinez fought a great bout and outperformed his opponent in two, if not all three rounds. However, after the post-fight scoring tally was delayed because of issues with the cageside computers, the judges delivered a seemingly horrible decision.

The judges awarded the fight 28-29, 29-28, 30-27 in Andre Ewell's favor, and it frustrated the MMA expert in Joe Rogan. The decision left the UFC commentator in disbelief, who could clearly see that it was Martinez's fight.

Slamming the 30-27 decision, which suggested that Ewell had outdone Martinez in each round, Joe Rogan said:

"That’s ridiculous! Anybody saying that that is three rounds to Ewell, that is criminal. That’s criminal. That three rounds to nothing is criminal. Martinez put in an excellent performance. He had Ewell hurt on several occasions in two rounds, kicked him to the body, took his legs out, had Ewell fighting his game, showed excellent defense. I’m stunned."

Joe Rogan's knowledge of the game was enough to know that the judges had messed up. He was backed by his co-commentators and UFC fighters as well, including Justin Gaethje, who tweeted:

"Joe Rogan is right. That one was criminal. 30-27 judge needs to be impeached #UFC247"
