The Ultimate Fighting Championship and Bellator MMA have for long been competing for the position of the best fight promotion in the world. While UFC has the obvious advantage and puts on fights which are better, Bellator is nipping at their heels, picking up former fighters and putting on extremely good shows as well.

Both promotions have huge rosters of their own, full of tried and tested fighters who can all compete at the very top level of Mixed Martial Arts. The two promotions have often been fantasy booked by the fans if fighters from Bellator took on fighters from UFC in a UFC vs. Bellator competition.

It is interesting to think about what could happen if such a situation arose between the two promotions, where they competed against each other.

In this article, we will talk about the best fights that could happen if these two promotions happened to go head to head. Without further ado, here are 5 Bellator vs. UFC fights the fans want to see.

#5 Michael Chandler vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov

The kings of the current UFC Lightweight Divisions of Bellator MMA and UFC, Michael Chandler and Khabib Nurmagomedov have ruled the roost on their own shows by their own methods.

Khabib Nurmagomedov does not need his accomplishments listed as he currently is still undefeated in his career after 27 fights. Nurmagomedov is a 1-time Lightweight Champion in the UFC and has defended his title a total of 1 time after winning it. His accomplishment lies in his total domination of any and all challenges he has faced, including 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor whom he faced last at UFC 229.

Michael Chandler, on the other hand, has proven his ability over time. He is a 3-time Champion in Bellator, which is a record by itself. On top of that, he has had the most title bouts of any fighter in the company at 10 fights. A record-holder in different aspects of Bellator, Chandler does not need anyone to speak for him, as he recently won back his Lightweight Title for the 3rd time in his career.

#4 Patricio Pitbull vs. Conor McGregor

The Featherweight Division in Bellator MMA has not known another fighter with the same level of dominance as Patricio 'Pitbull' Freire. He has won three separate Featherweight Tournaments at Featherweight and is a two-time Featherweight Champion.

He also holds the joint-record for the most wins in Bellator MMA alongside another fighter previously on this list, Michael Chandler. His dominance is unparalleled and it will take someone special to hand him a loss -- or someone 'Notorious'.

Conor McGregor is no stranger to the Featherweight Division, as he has mown through the Featherweight division in his time, before moving up to the Lightweight Division of late. McGregor might be a Lightweight fighter now, but his legacy lies in the lighter division.

In fact, in the UFC, at Featherweight, McGregor is undefeated.

He will face a fighter who is quite at his level in Pitbull, but the fight would be something the fans of both promotions could be quite interested in.

#3 Ilima-Lei Macfarlane vs. Amanda Nunes

Is there any woman in UFC currently on a hotter streak than Amanda Nunes?

The woman has defeated the seemingly indomitable Cris Cyborg in a matter of moments when she faced her in 2018 at the December pay-per-view in UFC 232. Her fight against Cyborg was at Featherweight, a weight at which she does not plan to return soon.

At Flyweight she has defeated the likes of Valentina Shevchenko, Ronda Rousey and Raquel Pennington to just name a few. It appears that no one can stop her -- no one currently signed to the UFC at least.

Ilima-Lei Macfarlane has created history in Bellator by becoming the inaugural Women's Flyweight Champion. She is currently 9-0 in her career, and 8-0 in Bellator, with only one of her 8 fights in the company going to a decision.

If there is one person who needs to battle Amanda Nunes at the moment, it is Macfarlane, as the two women would create quite the competition.

#2 Ryan Bader vs. Jon Jones

Ryan Bader is still a newcomer to Bellator MMA. After a long career in the UFC, Bader may be gearing up for a title fight at Heavyweight in the upcoming Bellator 214 pay-per-view, but he has proved himself to be quite the fighter and absolutely as capable in the Light Heavyweight Division. He is looking to become a two-division champion simultaneously, as he is the current Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion as well.

Bader has proved himself to be an incredible striker, but an absolutely dominant fighter on the mat as well.

Going up against Jon Jones, he will need every ounce of his skill to ground the controversial UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. Jones is another fighter who is undefeated with the exception of one loss due to illegal strikes early in his career. At the moment, it is a fight either fighter can earn the victory in and will give the fighters an equal opportunity as the fans watch.

#1 Fedor Emelianenko vs. Daniel Cormier

A legend vs. possibly the best fighter in the world currently.

This is one fight which everyone would pay to see in the current MMA world.

Fedor Emelianenko has earned his legend retaining an air of mystery so late in his career, and with it being one of the most intimidating fighters in the entire world. Currently, he is looking to win the Heavyweight Championship in Bellator MMA looking to add to his myriad accomplishments over his career and to add another win to his 38-5 record.

Daniel Cormier, on the other hand, has seen his stock rocket in the last year, when he proved just how good he was. He not only defeated Stipe Miocic, but he also made sure to take out Derrick Lewis in the same year. Having lost only one fight in his entire career, Cormier is looking to retire soon, and as such is one of those fighters who is possibly the most easily recognizable best fighter in the world.
