Conor McGregor assault victim hits out at 'The Notorious' "stupid" take on mental health 

Conor McGregor's assault victim, Desmond Keogh, recently spoke out against the MMA star's Twitter tirade aimed at Irish comedian PJ Gallagher and former Ireland soccer player Paul McGrath.

'Notorious' has been under fire this week after comments he made towards Irish pair Gallagher and McGrath were deemed offensive. Both men have spoken publicly about their battles with mental health to which McGregor responded by banning them from his Dublin pubs and offering to fight the pair in a 2 vs. 1 boxing match in aid of mental health.

Conor McGregor's now deleted tweet

Desmond Keogh, who was punched by the UFC fighter in a pub in Dublin in 2019, has spoken out against McGregor's recent comments. According to Keogh, Conor McGregor is "stupid" for taking aim at the beloved Irish duo.

As per Dublinlive.ie, Keogh said:

"I have no interest in having McGregor in my life. I have blanked him out. But I am an Ireland supporter and to say that about Paul McGrath, who is a national legend in my eyes, is a stupid thing to say. That’s my opinion. Why would he say that?"

The 54-year-old added:

“And mental health is very important. What McGregor said about that was stupid as well. I don’t know why anyone would speak about someone else’s mental health. There’s no reason for it."

Chael Sonnen believes Conor McGregor needs a reality check

UFC Hall of Famer Chael Sonnen believes Conor McGregor needs to be sat down and given a "real hard talk" in order to save himself from endangering his career.

The Irishman is expected to return to the octagon in 2023, but due to his recent bulked-up physique, fans are unsure in what division McGregor will feature. 'Notorious' recently indulged in a Twitter spree during the final UFC Fight Night of the year and boldly claimed he'd be willing to try out the middleweight division.

According to 'The American Gangster', however, the 34-year-old needs somebody in his camp to give him a reality check before he makes a mistake that damages the legacy he's built. Sonnen said in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel:

"Conor can't just go up to 185, we want to see you win a fight in your weight class... There's a level of proof that you need and if you have the arrogance to believe you can go up to 185 pounds... Gotta tell you about the time I tried to fight Daniel Cormier. I got a real hard talk and I think maybe it's time you sit down and we have that same talk."
