Daniel Cormier is arguably more familiar with Jon Jones' elite mentality than any other fighter. The pair shared a heated rivalry for over three years and fought for the UFC light heavyweight title on two occasions.

The former two-division champion recently compared Jones' confidence to that of newly crowned light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill.

'Sweet Dreams' defeated Glover Teixeira in the main event of UFC 283. But days prior to the fight, 'DC' witnessed Hill's confidence first-hand. Cormier joined Hill and UFC lightweight Terrance McKinney in their fighter-hotel rooms for an evening of video games, where 'DC' was astounded by Hill's level of confidence heading into the bout.

Daniel Cormier reviewed UFC 283 on DC & RC alongside co-host Ryan Clark and stated:

"I was surprised by Jamahal Hill last week. Because I was like, 'Dude, how are you so sure [you're going to win] on the eve of the biggest thing you've ever done?'"

'DC' added:

"You know, I speak about these athletes, some are just different. I always call back to my first title fight against Jon Jones, on January 3, 2015. On January 1, I slept until midnight to wake up and kiss my family into the new year. I looked on Instagram and Jon Jones is out at the club partying... because he was so sure. Jamahal Hill wouldn't go to sleep! He's playing video games and hanging out."

With his performance at UFC 283, Jamahal Hill surprised many fighters and fans aside from Daniel Cormier, as 'Sweet Dreams' won a 50-44 decision on all three judges' scorecards.

Daniel Cormier thinks Jones vs. Gane is better for fans than Jones vs. Ngannou

Daniel Cormier recently claimed that the scheduled bout between Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 will be more enjoyable for fans than a fight between Jones and Francis Ngannou.

A bout between 'The Predator' and Jones was arguably the most anticipated of 2023 prior to Ngannou's departure from the promotion. But Cormier believes that the stylistic matchup between Gane and 'Bones' will make for superb viewing.

'DC' recently broke down the upcoming bout on his YouTube channel and stated:

"I honestly believe that this matchup is a much better matchup for us as fans because technically you have two guys who are going to be as skilled as we have ever seen in the heavyweight division."
