Kamaru Usman once shared his reaction and expressed joy in seeing his teammate Rose Namajunas stun Zhang Weili to capture the strawweight championship.
Usman and Namajunas both competed at UFC 261 in the main and co-main events, respectively. With that in mind, their coach, Trevor Whittman, was busy as he was cornering 'The Nigerian Nightmare' for his welterweight title defense against Jorge Masvidal immediately following 'Thug Rose's' title bout against Weili.
Namajunas made quick work of Weili as she stunned her in Round 1 by dropping her with a perfectly timed head-kick to regain the strawweight championship. In his post-fight press conference via The Mac Life's YouTube page, Usman heaped praise on Namajunas's incredible knockout win and mentioned that he was happy to see her reach the pinnacle of her division for the second time in her career. He said:

"I saw that [head-kick knockout] and I saw [Namajunas] train that and I knew that could land. So, I was ecstatic and I was extremely excited for her. I know how much she put into this and I'm blessed and thankful to be able to be at this moment to see her accomplish that."

Kamaru Usman joined rare UFC company with win over Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261
UFC 261 was not only remembered for Rose Namajunas' head-kick knockout over Zhang Weili, but it was also remembered for Kamaru Usman's incredible knockout over Jorge Masvidal.
Usman dropped Masvidal with a powerful right hand at 1:02 of the second round to successfully retain his welterweight championship for the fourth consecutive time. In addition, 'The Nigerian Nightmare' earned his 14th consecutive win inside the octagon, which was two wins shy of Anderson Silva's record of 16.
In the aforementioned video, Usman admitted that he didn't think too much about the winning streak record because he didn't want to lose focus.
"No, [it doesn't mean anything to me right now]. I just worry about the next [fight]. You know, if I don't take care of the next one then I don't get to that number. So, I'm worried about the next one and the next one and the next one. And, we'll see what happens." [9:45]
