Israel Adesanya was arrested and briefly detained on Wednesday at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport on his way home after his UFC 281 loss to Alex Pereira. He was stopped by security during the luggage screening process due to the possession of brass knuckles.

According to an initial report by TMZ, the former UFC middleweight champion was arrested by the Port Authority Police Department at approximately 1:57 p.m. ET on Wednesday near the American Airlines terminal TSA screening area.

Adesanya's manager, Tim Simpson of Paradigm Sports, revealed in a statement that the brass knuckles were a gift from a fan and 'The Last Stylebender' was dismissed from custody after compliance and cooperation with the authorities.

Brass knuckles are prohibited in carry-on luggage at all airports across the country. Moreover, the state of New York completely outlaws brass knuckles in New York Penal Law 265.01(1) that classifies possession of a weapon, regardless of one's intention to use it, as a Class A misdemeanor. The punishment, if found guilty, is a one-year prison term plus fines.

Dana White is an ardent fan of boxing, but he has always maintained his distance from the sport as a promoter. His main reason behind this decision is the alleged corruption that has mired the sport in recent times. However, it seems like he has had a change of mind.

Appearing on Amazon Prime's The Cari Champion Show, the UFC president revealed that he has plans to get into boxing over the next 6-8 months even though he still has his reservations:

"I'm already dabbling there and doing some things. I'm just sort of playing. I'm staying in the outside and sort of playing with it and it's just such a corrupt, bad sport. It's so corrupt and it's really tough to navigate... I would love to get in and try [to fix it]... Just it's so bad that it's indescribable... Now that I have said this to you, you will see over the next 6-8 months some of this stuff start to play out publicly."

Joe Rogan shared his opinion on the current civil rights protests in Iran that have been going on since the death of Mahsa Amini under mysterious circumstances. Recent news stories have revealed that the Iranian parliament plans to execute the 15,000 plus protesters who have been speaking up against the government.

During episode #1899 of The Joe Rogan Experience, the UFC commentator looked into the matter with his guest, American comedian Yannis Pappas. Rogan was left shocked at the 227-63 vote in favor of mass executing rebels to "teach them a hard lesson" in the aftermath of the protests.

Speaking on how the United States should fix itself to not turn into a similar autocratic regime, Rogan said:

"We need to make our system better, we can't throw it away. We need to fix this thing slowly and carefully in a way that doesn't overturn everything. If we don't, we're f**ked... The real problem is not 78 genders, or whether or not the ocean's going to boil, the real problem is money and politics. These motherf**kers put us in positions in order for them to gain extreme wealth and they do that for their own benefit... and they've always done that."
