A look at how Andrei Arlovski's face has changed since his MMA debut

Andrei Arlovski looks like two different people when one compares his present-day appearance to that at the start of his career. The most significant difference is the flattened nose, which he broke several times during the course of his career. Nose fractures are not uncommon in a sport where the requirement is to punch people in the face.

At the start of his career, Arlovski had a sharp nose. He first broke his nose in 2001 when he fought Pedro Rizzo in his third outing with the promotion at UFC 36. He broke his nose a couple more times in his career and even walked around with a crooked nose for a while.

In a 2018 interview, Ariel Helwani asked Andrei Arlovski about his crooked nose. Helwani posted a tweet showing Arlovski's response.

'The Pit Bull' once said that he never broke his nose in a fight but in a "stupid situation" at a restaurant. In an interview with MMA Fighting, Arlovski spoke about his nose injury and had some advice for Mike Perry. 'Platinum' was coming off a unanimous decision loss against Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 23, where he suffered a devastating nose injury.

Arlovski said he'd pass on his doctor's number to Perry, mentioning that the doctor had done some work with Thiago Alves.
