Anissa Meksen claims she built her career the hard way

Anissa Meksen believes that, unlike her, Stamp Fairtex’s success was essentially made by ONE Championship.

Anissa Meksen says she built her career by fighting everyone that stood in her way, but she can’t say the same for her ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video opponent Stamp Fairtex.

In an interview with the promotion, Meksen suggested that Stamp Fairtex became a star because ONE Championship chose to put her in that position, allowing her to cherry-pick opponents in the process:

“It’s not the same for me. I took everybody out [who was in] my way. I did not choose opponents, nothing. So we will see if she’s the bigger star.”

While Stamp Fairtex’s rise to stardom may have felt like it happened overnight, the Thai superstar earned her laurels every step of the way under the ONE banner. Stamp was the first person in ONE history to become a two-sport world champion, capturing Muay Thai and kickboxing titles in her first two bouts.

From there, she made a successful transition to MMA, going 9-2 thus far and running through the competition in the 2021 ONE women’s atomweight world Grand Prix. She accomplished all of that through a combination of hard work, skill, and determination.

Fabricio Andrade is impressed with the evolution of Stamp Fairtex ahead of bout with Anissa Meksen

Unlike Anissa Meksen, men's No.1-ranked bantamweight Fabricio Andrade is thoroughly impressed with the evolution of Stamp Fairtex. In an interview with ONE Championship, ‘Wonder Boy’ shared his thoughts on Stamp:

“I know Stamp is doing really good, I was so impressed with her past fights, the way that she would submit like, those girls because she’s a Muay Thai fighter. You saw that she’s been doing a lot of training in jiu-jitsu and wrestling, and she has a good ground game. Of course, Stamp is training for years now so it’s gonna be very interesting to see that one.”

One month after Stamp Fairtex squares off with Anissa Meksen, Fabricio Andrade will attempt to capture ONE Championship gold when he meets former bantamweight titleholder John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video.

You can watch both events live and for free in U.S. primetime on Amazon Prime Video with an active subscription to the streaming service.
