At ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video, Anissa Meksen will face one of the promotion’s biggest stars in a massively anticipated bout. On January 13, she will compete against Stamp Fairtex in the promotion’s second-ever mixed-rules fight.

Whilst ONE Championship fans have seen Meksen display her high-level striking through three consecutive wins inside the circle, the big question going into the fight is how she will fare in the MMA rounds.

Stamp Fairtex burst onto the scene as an elite striker, but has also proved herself to be a high-level fighter in MMA. That would seemingly give her an edge in the contest.

Countering that point, Anissa Meksen has been talking about her training in MMA and how she is well-prepared for each ruleset. In an interview with ONE Championship, she said:

“I trained in MMA in 2017, and after that, I trained in MMA for three years. Now, I just came back and my skills feel good. It was a little bit difficult to come back, but now I feel better and I feel comfortable.”

If Meksen is able to compete with Stamp Fairtex in MMA, it will certainly even the playing field and turn the fight into a battle of who is the superior striker. Many have suggested that would play more into Meksen’s comfort zone.

“She’s a dancer, I’m a real fighter” - Anissa Meksen blasts Stamp Fairtex

Anissa Meksen has never been afraid to say what’s on her mind. With her choice words about Stamp Fairtex, she's dialed up the heat.

One of the best strikers of her era, Meksen defeated Dangkongfah Banchamek in her last fight at ONE on Prime Video 2. Following her dominant unanimous decision win, Mitch Chilson had some big news for the world.

In her post-fight interview, Meksen was asked about her thoughts on facing Stamp Fairtex in a mixed-rules contest, which is now just around the corner.

At ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video on January 13, the two will finally meet in Bangkok after a tense build-up.

Anissa Meksen told Mitch Chilson that Stamp isn’t a fighter of her caliber and that the former two-sport world champion is more of an entertainer than a martial artist.

She said:

“She’s [Stamp Fairtex] a dancer, I’m a real fighter.”

Meksen’s statement caused a startled reaction from the crowd, who largely side with fan favorite Stamp Fairtex. Nevertheless, Meksen is excited about the opportunity to face Stamp at Impact Arena in January.

She even revealed that she’s been training in mixed martial arts for a while. She claimed that Stamp, who’s already made a successful transition into the sport, will not be able to surprise her:

“I trained MMA for a long time now, I expect a fight so it’s good for me, it’s a good opportunity so let’s see what happens in January. I’m so happy it’s the first event we’ll do MMA and Muay Thai so I’m happy to do this."
