Conor McGregor is venturing into Hollywood as an actor, debuting alongside perennial movie star Jake Gyllenhaal. The biggest superstar in MMA is looking to taste some box-office success as he makes his silver screen acting debut in a remake of the Patrick Swayze-starring 1989 classic, Road House.

Over the past couple of months, fans have been treated to some behind-the-scenes glimpses of 'The Notorious' while filming on set. McGregor has actively shared updates about the production on his social media handles, adding to the audience's anticipation.

According to reports, Jake Gyllenhaal will play Patrick Swayze's role as the main character in Road House, an ex-UFC fighter who's hired as a bouncer in a troubled Florida Keys bar.

While McGregor's role is still unknown, it has been widely reported that he will play an original character. It is widely speculated that 'The Notorious' will play the role of Jimmy Reno, played by Marshall Teague in the original, as the right-hand henchman of the movie's antagonist.

Conor McGregor and Jake Gyllenhaal also recently graced the UFC 285 weigh-in ceremony to shoot a scene for the film. The scene involved Gyllenhaal and UFC veteran Jay Hieron facing off at a fictional UFC 222 event and was apparently retaken multiple times with the audience present.

Conor McGregor on TUF: Former rival predicts a knockout win for the Irishman against Michael Chandler

Conor McGregor has been out of action since his nasty leg fracture against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. However, that hasn't deterred Eddie Alvarez from backing the Irishman to beat Michael Chandler when they meet in the octagon later this year.

Alvarez shares history with both the coaches of the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), losing his title to 'The Notorious' at UFC 205 in 2016 and facing 'Iron' twice in Bellator for the lightweight belt. After McGregor and Chandler finish their TUF season, they are expected to face each other in the octagon as tradition dictates.

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Alvarez outlined why he predicted another KO victory for Conor McGregor:

"If I had to guess, Mike Chandler doesn’t wrestle. If he stands with Conor, Conor’s going to knock him out. It’s a mismatch... He throws bombs, but Conor’s way too fast, way too quick to get hit with anything Mike Chandler is throwing."
