Jonathan Haggerty provided an update following his devastating loss against Superlek Kiatmoo9.
On Sept. 6, Haggerty suffered arguably the most disappointing loss of his fighting career. The UK superstar attempted to defend his flyweight Muay Thai world title in the ONE 169 main event against flyweight kickboxing king Superlek.
Unfortunately for Haggerty, Superlek landed a picture-perfect elbow and won the fight by knockout in 49 seconds.
Haggerty recently made an appearance on the Winners Talking Podcast to provide an update to his fans. The reigning ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion had this to say about losing his Muay Thai strap:
"Not a lot. Just came back from America. I fought Superlek, about eight weeks ago. Yeah, didn’t go to plan. But we're on to the next one, back to the drawing board."
Earlier this month, Haggerty also took to Instagram and revealed he's already signed on for his next fight:
"Fight date is set. Time to put a W in front of that L 👊🏼 @onechampionship"

Superlek looks to defend bantamweight Muay Thai title following Jonathan Haggerty win
Superlek's win against Jonathan Haggerty made him the latest fighter to become a two-sport world champion. The Thai megastar turns his attention to his first bantamweight Muay Thai title defense instead of his flyweight kickboxing throne.
On Jan. 24, 2025, Superlek will defend his bantamweight Muay Thai strap in the ONE 170 co-main event.
Superlek's upcoming opponent is number two-ranked Nico Carrillo, who holds a promotional record of 4-0, all knockouts. The 26-year-old last fought in July, adding Saemapetch Fairtex to his resume that features Furkan Karabag, Muangthai, and Nong-O.
Superlek looks to extend his phenomenal run over the last year where he defeated Takeru Segawa (kickboxing), Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Konthoranee Sor Sommai, and Haggerty. The 29-year-old has an opportunity to further his legacy inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand during ONE 170.
The upcoming event featuring Superlek vs. Nico Carrillo and Tawanchai vs. Superbon (featherweight Muay Thai) can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
