Belal Muhammad, a prominent welterweight contender in the UFC, along with his manager Ali Abdelaziz, have accused fellow fighter Colby Covington of repeatedly avoiding a potential fight with Muhammad. The accusations suggest that Covington has been deliberately avoiding facing Muhammad in the octagon despite numerous opportunities to do so.

According to Ali Abdelaziz, a well known manager in the world of MMA, Colby Covington has been avoiding a potential fight with 'Remember the Name'. Abdelaziz's statement suggests that Covington is deliberately dodging a matchup with Muhammad, despite Muhammad's deserving status as a top contender.

Abdelaziz tweeted:

"Colby Covington keeps running away from Belal Muhammad like he ran in the buffet line. If Colby doesn’t wanna fight then Belal 100% deserves the next title shot."

The current fourth-ranked welterweight contender believes that he is the most deserving fighter to earn a championship title shot. Muhammad emphasized his desire to face Colby Covington in the octagon, expressing a strong desire to make Covington "bleed his own blood."

The 170-pounder tweeted:

Belal Muhammad aspires to be the backup quarterback to Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman

Belal Muhammad is on the brink of securing a welterweight championship title shot and is currently struggling to secure a fight. Muhammad claims that he has been presented with an opportunity to fight Colby Covington, a former title contender, but has not received a definitive response from Covington's camp.

Muhammad has expressed a willingness to serve as a backup fighter for the welterweight championship title fight between current champion Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman. The fight is set to headline UFC 286 on March 18 in London.

During his recent appearance with The Schmo, 'Remember the Name' stated:

"I’m hoping that ends up being the situation, where they call me out, bring me out down there because you never know what happens."

He further added:

"Guys have been getting injured day of, day before. I see they’ve done backups for every single title fight, so I don’t understand why they wouldn’t wanna put me on that card. But if they give me the Colby fight before that, I’ll take it. If not, I’m ready to be the backup.”
