Fans recently voiced their opinions about the UFC releasing custom shorts inspired by fighters ahead of the Dricus du Plessis vs. Israel Adesanya title fight. Adesanya is set to challenge du Plessis for the middleweight title in the main event of UFC 305 this weekend.

The multi-billion-dollar organization took to X and unveiled the custom shorts that the two fighters will wear for their Saturday night clash. Venum, the official UFC fight gear and apparel supplier, made the shorts specifically for the fighters.

Adesanya's shorts featured golden lightning striking against a black backdrop. On the contrary, the shorts for du Plessis are sewn together using his home country's colors.

Fans soon rushed to the comments section to share their reactions.

One fan wrote:

''Best ones so far''

Another fan stated:

''Izzy wearing black and gold? DDP wearing green? I thought black/gold was the champ's colors.''

Other fans wrote:

''These custom shorts are the best decision made from the ufc in awhile please keep it up!''
''Not an Izzy fan but holy those shorts are tuff. Wish they did the different styles of shorts too not just the compressed. Also wish that you could just buy them without the name on it.''

Even though Adesanya is one of the biggest names in the UFC, things haven't been going well for him lately. 'The Last Stylebender' is 3-2 in his last five fights. After being soundly defeated by Sean Strickland at UFC 293 last year, the Nigerian-born Kiwi took a long break from fighting.

However, the reigning champion has now compelled Adesanya to return to the MMA scene. Unbeaten in the promotion, du Plessis won the middleweight title by defeating Strickland via split decision at UFC 297.

Dricus du Plessis withdraws his comments on Israel Adesanya ahead of UFC 305

Israel Adesanya took his longest hiatus from fighting following his title loss to Sean Strickland at UFC 293. Dricus du Plessis had already stated that Adesanya should have retired by now since he no longer saw the hunger or fire in him.

However, in a recent interview with ShakMMA, du Plessis withdrew his statement, saying that while Adesanya still possesses fire, it is entirely overpowered by his own.

''I made a statement that his fire is gone and I don’t believe that, I think the fire is still there, I just believe my fire is just, his fire is insignificant compared to mine. The passion, the fire that I have in me, the passion burning is overshadowing his and that’s why I can’t even see his fire.''
