At ONE on Prime Video 4, veteran and former world champion Bibiano Fernandes returns to the circle. ‘The Flash’ will face rising contender Stephen Loman inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium, with the event being free to watch for North American audiences with a Prime Video subscription.

At 42 years of age, Fernandes has a point to prove on November 18. After losing his bantamweight title earlier this year, this is his chance to prove that he can still hang with the younger contenders in the division.

Despite his age, it can’t be forgotten just how dominant Bibiano Fernandes was as the bantamweight champion. Even in losing his world title to John Lineker, he showed great heart and toughness to stay in the fight and make it difficult for Lineker.

In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Fernandes told a story to emphasize how his age is merely a number:

“Dude, it was crazy. Today, I took my son Elijah to the shop and a guy came up to me to speak with me a little bit. He said ‘Oh, you’re doing mixed martial arts, right?' He asked, 'How old are you?’ I said, ‘I’m 42.’ He said, ‘What the f*ck? 42? You look like you’re 25. How is that possible?’ I said, ‘I don’t know man, I think I took good care of myself. I have no idea. But that’s who I am.'”

“I can be dangerous everywhere” - Bibiano Fernandes warns Stephen Loman of his unheralded power

On November 18, Brazilian MMA legend Bibiano Fernandes returns to the circle on the comeback trail. Now taking the position of the hunter for the first time in many years, Fernandes is looking to rebound from losing his world championship earlier this year.

Whilst his title reign that still holds the record for longest reign and most defenses was mostly identified by Fernandes’ grappling skills, his striking is by no means lacking.

In the same interview, ‘The Flash’ reminded everyone, including his upcoming opponent Stephen Loman, just what he is capable of:

"I have good power. Nobody has ever dropped John Lineker before, but guess what? I did it. I dropped John Lineker. I dropped Kevin [Belingon]. I dropped many fighters. Sometimes people only think about my jiu-jitsu. But you know what? I can be dangerous everywhere."

Fernandes continued:

"People forget. They say ‘Oh Bibi is a jiu-jitsu guy. Bibi is a wrestling guy.’ If you watch my fight again, nobody dropped John Lineker. I was the first one."

If Bibiano Fernandes is successful against Stephen Loman at ONE on Prime Video 4, it will put him right back into the frame to recapture his world championship.
