During his octagon interview, Pantoja shared how he was raised by his mother, who single-handedly cared for him and his two brothers, but wished for his dad's approval after his win. Now, UFC light heavyweight fighter Johnny Walker has reacted to this moment.
Pantoja is set to defend his flyweight title against Kai Asakura in the main event of UFC 310 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Dec. 7, 2024. Promoting the event, ESPN MMA shared a photo of Pantoja during his octagon interview, along with his quote from that moment on Instagram which made fans emotional.
“My mom took care of me and my two brothers alone. Now dad, you proud of me, dad? Are you proud of me.”
Walker shared his thoughts in the comments, praising Pantoja:
“This is real. (Person wearing crown emoji.)”

Kai Asakura is set to make his UFC debut against Alexandre Pantoja in the main event. Recently, the UFC 310 countdown promo video saw Asakura, known for his knockout power, claimed that he could knock Pantoja out with one shot, saying:
“My advantage over Pantoja is that I can finish him in one shot. So if he makes even one mistake, I’m confident that I can KO him in one shot.”
In the same video, Pantoja vowed that the fight would go in his favor and warned Asakura, saying:
"Wherever the fight goes, it will be my fight. At UFC 310, I want to finish Asakura. I want to bring his head to my table."
