BREAKING: Conor McGregor's alleged yacht assault victim drops lawsuit

A Spanish court has reportedly investigated allegations that Conor McGregor assaulted a woman during a party on his yacht on July 17, 2022. The accuser claims that McGregor kicked and assaulted her before threatening to drown her, all of which he strongly refutes.

Samantha Murphy, the accuser, claims that Conor McGregor assaulted her last year while they were celebrating his birthday on his yacht. Murphy asserted that the Irishman kicked her in the stomach and struck her in the chin. She further claimed that she was forced to jump overboard and was ultimately rescued by a Red Cross ship.

Murphy has reportedly dropped her civil action lawsuit against McGregor, as reported by the Irish media outlet Independent.ie. A month after filing the case, Samantha Murphy filed an appeal to terminate it earlier this week. Alvaro Blasco, Murphy's solicitor, could only confirm that a notice of discontinuance had been filed and that he intended to seek dismissal of the case.

Murphy had requested that the High Court issue an order compelling the former UFC champion to preserve evidence connected to the alleged event, including CCTV and camera phone footage. However, this application will no longer be processed.

Gardai, the state police department of the Republic of Ireland, was actively probing another attack at the residence of the accuser who leveled assault charges against Conor McGregor. Police were reportedly investigating a break-in at a south Dublin residence.

The incident in Drimnagh follows a January 19 attempt to torch the woman's vehicle in the same place. Neither incident was linked to the woman's allegation that Conor McGregor assaulted her in July aboard his yacht near the Balearic Islands.

Sean O'Malley sheds light on the issues that Conor McGregor might face when he's eligible to compete again

Conor McGregor is recovering from a leg injury he sustained in his third fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. To the delight of his devoted fanbase, the Irishman is currently shooting for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), serving as a rival coach against Michael Chandler.

While the Irishman is expected to face Chandler once the season is wrapped up, it is worth noting that McGregor is out of the USADA testing pool and is required to be in it for six months and pass two tests before he is able to enter the octagon.

Sean O'Malley stated on his podcast, TimboSugarShow, that Conor McGregor's issues will intensify once he re-enters the USADA testing pool and makes a return to active competition:

"[Conor's] been sauced up, too. He wasn't even in the USADA pool so it doesn't matter what he's taking at that time. He obviously has to be in the USADA pool for six months, but imagine being on that s**t feeling so f**king good training - you f**king train, you do your s**t, you just train and train and train, then you have to get off that to make sure you pass all the tests and then you're not feeling like training as much."
