A welterweight bout between Sean Brady and Michel Pereira has just been scheduled for UFC on ESPN 43 in San Antonio, Texas, in March. The main event for the card is yet to be announced. However, the reported bout between the ranked welterweights is the sixth fight announced on the card.

Sean Brady will enter with a professional record of 15-1 since making his mixed martial arts debut in 2014. The No.8-ranked welterweight is coming off the only loss of his career as Belal Muhammad defeated him via second-round TKO at UFC 280. Brady is 5-1 since joining the UFC in 2019, picking up two submission victories and three decision victories.

Michel Pereira, who made his mixed martial arts debut in 2011, has spent much more time in the octagon, as he is 28-11-2. The No.14-ranked welterweight is 6-2 since making his promotional debut in 2019. He will put his five-fight win streak on the line at UFC on ESPN 43. He last competed in May 2022, where his split decision victory over Santiago Ponzinibbio earned him a Fight of the Night bonus.

Sean Brady and Michel Pereira is the second fight added to UFC San Antonio this week

UFC on ESPN 43 is shaping up to be a strong card despite having just six fights announced thus far. The welterweight bout between Sean Brady and Michel Pereira is the fourth fight between ranked opponents that has been added to the card and the second that has been added this week.

Following Kai Kara-France's withdrawal from UFC 284, his scheduled opponent, Alex Perez, was removed from the card as well. Instead, the No.6-ranked flyweight will face No.9-ranked flyweight Manel Kape at UFC on ESPN 43.

Perez has lost his last two fights. However, he has a professional mixed martial arts record of 24-7, including a 6-3 record in the UFC. He faced Deiveson Figueiredo for the flyweight title at UFC 255 but lost via first-round submission.

Kape, who has a professional mixed martial arts record of 18-6, is trending in the opposite direction. The No.9-ranked flyweight is currently riding a three-fight win streak, which includes a victory over David Dvorak at UFC Fight Night 216, the last event of 2022.
