Chingiz Allazov has spent time in Thailand preparing for his upcoming world championship fight.

In the ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video main event, Allazov has the biggest opportunity of his career against Superbon Singha Mawynn. ‘Chinga’ earned the ONE featherweight kickboxing world title shot after winning the Featherweight Grand Prix in 2022.

During an interview with SCMP MMA, the 29-year-old had this to say about his preparations for his upcoming fight:

“Yes I’m ready. This [past] year for six months I stayed in Thailand before the final fight of the tournament, before Sitthichai. Three months I trained in Thailand from January to March and after that we went back home and came back one more time to prepare for Superbon. Yes I have good acclimatization, I like the atmosphere in Thailand. I like Thailand, you know and I like Thai style."

Allazov vs. Superbon is a prime example of why Grand Prix tournaments are necessary. Last year’s tournament resulted in a must-see fight between two of the best kickboxers on the planet. The question is, who will emerge victorious?

Chingiz Allazov believes his last opponent might be better than Superbon

Chingiz Allazov won the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix by defeating Jo Nattawut and Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong. Although Superbon is considered the current pound-for-pound king, Allazov thinks Sitthichai might be more talented. He had this to say during an interview with ONE Championship:

“I said before that Sitthichai may be better than Superbon. He’s really tough. I threw punches at him many times and he won't go down. But he really goes forward all the time. He likes to fight with me. He moves in the first and second rounds and after the coach said, go, don't stop, only KO will win you this fight. Then he goes forward. I see that he's very powerful. But maybe if Superbon will go forward he will have problems.”

Chingiz Allazov’s claim is somewhat questionable, considering Superbon beat Sitthichai in 2020. The reigning featherweight world champion also took out Giorgio Petrosyan and Marat Grigorian, two pound-for-pound kickboxers. If ‘Chinga’ emerges victorious at ONE Fight Night 6, he will likely be considered the best kickboxer on the planet.

The event will be broadcast live and for free to all Amazon Prime Video subscribers across North America.
