Chingiz Allazov says Superbon "is not a fighter" and doesn’t like to engage

Chingiz Allazov does not believe that ONE Championship’s featherweight kickboxing world champion is much of a fighter.

Allazov will finally get his long-awaited world title fight with Superbon Singha Mawynn when the pair headline ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video this Friday night. The card is loaded with incredible kickboxing matchups, none bigger than the main event of the evening. Ahead of the highly anticipated clash, ‘Chinga’ spoke to ONE Championship and gave his candid thoughts on the skills of the reigning world champion:

“Before, Superbon said to Giorgio Petrosyan that Petrosyan is not a fighter – that he was a player. I say the same now. For me, Superbon is not a fighter. He’s a player, you know?”

Chingiz Allazov's words may come back to bite him as he will square off with a man who has yet to taste defeat inside the circle. With more than 100 career victories under his belt. Superbon has looked nothing short of spectacular, particularly in his 2021 bout with the aforementioned Giorgio Petrosyan.

Superbon delivered a Knockout of the Year contender, delivering a brutal head-kick KO to Petrosyan. Five months later, Superbon scored a unanimous decision win over Marat Grigorian to establish himself as one of the greatest kickboxers alive today.

Chingiz Allazov believes his power will be a big problem for Superbon

Though Chingiz Allazov’s lack of respect for Superbon’s skills may be a bit misguided, ‘Chinga’ knows that he holds the power advantage and few would dare dispute that. Allazov believes that will be the biggest problem for Superbon when the two meet on January 13 in the ONE Fight Night 6 headliner. Continuing his conversation with the promotion, Allazov said:

“I’m one of the biggest problems for [Superbon]. He knows this. He has good timing, he has a good universal style. I have kicks and power over him. He’s a very good fighter but maybe he makes a little mistake here and it’s a big problem in his fight with me.”
