Reigning ONE lightweight world champion Christian Lee believes his upcoming welterweight world title clash against Kiamrian Abbasov will not go the distance. As far as ‘The Warrior’ is concerned, one of them is going to get finished that night and fans will certainly get their money’s worth.

On November 18 at ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs. Lee inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium, the 24-year-old superstar will look to place two golden straps over his shoulders by also conquering the 185-pound ranks.

Speaking to ONE Championship ahead of the world champion vs. world champion match, Lee shared his gratitude for getting an opportunity to challenge an amazing fighter like Abbasov:

“I think they chose a good fight to headline this card. Because Abbasov is an extremely talented fighter, I know that when he goes out there, he’s always looking to finish his fights. And when I go there, I’m looking to finish my fights. So regardless of the outcome, I know, it’s going to be an exciting fight for the fans.”

Christian Lee’s killer instinct is well known by ONE fans considering he's fought every professional fight of his career inside the Circle. The Singaporean-American has a penchant for putting on exciting bouts and has finished all but one of his 16 career wins. Lee just reclaimed his lightweight world title following a two-round beatdown of Ok Rae Yoon at ONE 160 this past August.

Abbasov is also a respectable finisher, with 11 of his 23 wins coming by knockout or submission. He took out marquee names like Agilan Thani, Yushin Okami, Zebaztian Kadestam, and James Nakashima to become the king of the welterweights.

Christian Lee thinks winner of Roberto Soldic vs. Murad Ramazanov will be next in line for welterweight world title shot

While Christian Lee is not taking Abbasov lightly, he also recently talked about the future of the welterweight division. ‘The Warrior’ was particularly intrigued by the arrival of sought-after free agent Roberto Soldic.

The Croatian sensation will be tested right away at ONE on Prime Video 5 on December 2, when he takes on the undefeated Murad Ramazanov.

In an interview with The MMA Super Fan, Lee said that the high-stakes match-up will likely determine the next contender at 185-pounds:

“I think that’s a title eliminator fight. I think that whoever wins that fight will be next in line for the belt. Ramazanov, I believe he has three wins in the welterweight division, a very impressive record. He could have been next in line for the welterweight shot as well. And with Roberto coming in, bringing the resume that he has, I think definitely the winner of that fight will be next.”
