Conor McGregor's coach recently revealed one of the things that would motivate 'The Notorious' to make a comeback this year.

Appearing in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, John Kavanagh also shared his thoughts on Johnny Walker’s big win over Paul Craig and Walker’s future in the light heavyweight division.

At one point in the interview, the coach was asked about his star pupil Conor McGregor's potential return to action, to which he confidently responded that the Irishman would definitely be making it into the octagon sometime this year.

Further speaking of what would motivate the UFC superstar to make a comeback, the coach stated:

"For Conor to train for his next fight, he has definitely got to find something that's massively motivating to him, that's gonna get him out of the silk pajamas and into the sweaty gym. A couple of millions more is gonna motivate him? I don't think so. I think it's more gonna be a particular opponent, a particular skill set, and how it matches up against him."

Naming a few of McGregor's potential opponents, Kavanagh said:

"You got the great Nate Diaz as obviously in there, Justin Gaethje I think would be an interesting matchup... The Poirier fight probably, we have done that so many times at this stage and it's just a weird one and... Michael Chandler, a great fighter, a great athlete. They are all brilliant. They are all gonna bring something new to the contest."

Charles Oliveira challenges Conor McGregor to a fight for the Irishman's comeback into the octagon

After a long break since his lightweight championship loss to Islam Makhachev, Charles Oliveira has once again expressed his interest in a potential fight with 'Mystic Mac'. Still, he believes the former champion may not be willing to take on the challenge.

Despite that, 'do Bronx' has boldly stated that he is willing to face the Irishman in the octagon at any point in time:

"I've asked for this fight and he says nothing, and I won't say it anymore. When he wants it, I'm ready... Conor McGregor chickened out a long time ago, he picks his fights. He's right to avoid me because he knows what would happen."
