Conor McGregor is seemingly not very impressed with the sport of slap fighting. 'The Notorious,' like several other combat sports enthusiasts, recently came across disturbing footage of a slap-fighting contest from Romania.

The video shows one of the fighters taking a brutal slap with an abnormally swollen face. The recipient of the slap even seemingly went on to complain about getting hit on the temple.

The clip, which has led to more criticism of the already controversial sport, was brutally trolled by Conor McGregor. The former UFC double champ wrote:

"Absolutely gorgeous technique congrats the new heavy weight champion."

The bout was organized under the banner of Romanian fight promotion RXF MMA. The athlete in question appears to be Sorin Comsa, who also seemingly went on to win the bout.

Slap fighting is widely being slammed as a sport that leaves CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy) a mere eventuality for athletes. However, this did not stop UFC President Dana White from venturing into the sport with his own slap-fighting promotion, Power Slap League.

However, the debut of White's Power Slap League on TBS was pushed back a week after the UFC boss was caught on camera slapping his wife at a Mexican club on New Year's Eve.

Slap fighting has previously aroused Conor McGregor's interests

The controversial sport of slap fighting has attracted Conor McGregor's attention on previous occasions as well. In one of his Twitter rants dating back to last September, the Dubliner even claimed that the sport was growing on him. 'The Notorious' wrote:

"This power slap championships is growing on me. Who doesn’t like watching good quality clatters hahaha"

Further inquiring about the intricacies of the sport, McGregor wrote:

"Is it a flip of a coin who gets to go first? How long do they have to recover before they get to throw their counter? Or is it over if they’re ko’d? Fascinating. I’m attending one of these 100%. Is this Dana’s ? Wtf is this madness Dana hahaha. I’m in."

McGregor even proposed a slap-fight clash against arch-rival Nate Diaz, who is known for his famous 'Stockton Slap.'
