Conor McGregor is "falling off" his Twitter game with "cringy" posts, says Ben Askren

Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor is considered by many to be one of the best trash talkers in combat sports history. However, Ben Askren thinks that the Irishman's skills on the mic haven't quite translated to the Twitter-sphere.

In a recent interview with Mype Sports, the former multi-promotional champion opined that most of the Dubliner's recent Tweets were cringe-worthy.

Askren especially mocked McGregor for suggesting he was going to fast-track the mandatory USADA testing for his UFC return:

"McGregor has fallen off. I think so much of his stuff is really cringy right now. I actually get really annoyed and I actually Tweeted about it. He is still not in the USADA testing pool and he tried saying that he could skip the line and they could let him back and they clarified and said no."

Furthermore, the former Bellator champion asked 'The Notorious' to stop calling out fighters after every UFC event since nobody believes that he'll return to fight in the promotion:

"Every Saturday when there is this big UFC fight, he pops on there [Twitter] and starts talking about how someone sucks or he is going to beat someone up. and it's like listen Connor, you're retired, you don't fight anymore. You're not in the USADA testing pool. No one is convinced you are going to fight, no one buys it."

When Joe Rogan suggested that Conor McGregor might be on steroids

Conor McGregor has been out of the USADA testing pool since the fourth quarter of 2021. His insane muscle gains en route to recovery from his leg break have led many in the MMA community to suspect whether 'The Notorious' is using steroids.

During episode #1905 of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan joked with fitness educator Derek saying that McGregor's urine contains enough steroids to melt the USADA testing cup:

"He's taking his shirt off and posing constantly and he looks like his piss would melt that USADA cup. Like it would just like burn a hole right to the bottom of that USADA cup."

The UFC color commentator added that few athletes have been able to perform well in the UFC after returning from a gruesome leg injury like McGregor's.
