Conor McGregor has settled in court with Michael Chiesa over a UFC 223 bus attack lawsuit.

McGregor infamously attacked the UFC 223 fighters’ bus four years ago with Chiesa inside. ‘Maverick’ suffered several facial cuts from broken glass, forcing him to pull out of his fight against Anthony Pettis.

The 34-year-old UFC welterweight sued ‘The Notorious,’ which has now been settled. MMAFighting broke the news and had this to say about the 2018 lawsuit:

“A person with knowledge of the suit, who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the matter, confirmed to MMA Fighting a settlement was reached; terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Reps for Chiesa did not immediately respond to a request for comment. McGregor’s representative Karen Kessler released a brief statement on the Chiesa lawsuit, saying 'the matter was resolved and is now closed.'"

The UFC 223 bus incident stemmed from a viral video showing Khabib Nurmagomedov aggressively confronting Artem Lobov at the fighters’ hotel. McGregor was furious and hopped on a private jet with 20 friends. The Irish crew found their way into the Barclays Center after the UFC 223 media day and attacked the bus with ‘The Eagle’ inside. Unfortunately, other fighters unrelated to their rivalry, including Chiesa, were negatively affected.

Conor McGregor is being sued by his former training partner Artem Lobov

Conor McGregor and Artem Lobov used to be close friends and training partners. Unfortunately, their friendship has recently spiraled out of control. Lobov opened a lawsuit against McGregor, stating he wasn’t fully compensated for his involvement in Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey.

McGregor began verbally attacking Lobov on social media, leading to a second lawsuit for defamation. ‘The Notorious’ then called ‘The Russian Hammer’ out for a fight at the SBG Concorde training gym, which didn’t lead to any action. The lawsuits are ongoing.

Four years drastically changed the relationship between McGregor and Lobov. ‘The Notorious’ has gone from committing several crimes in his teammate’s defense to being sued by the same person. ‘The Russian Hammer’ may have to be patient with his lawsuits, considering Michael Chiesa spent four years going after the former two-division UFC champion.
