Craig Jones has cornered several UFC fighters, namely featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena. Jones, who operates as a Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) coach for the aforementioned fighters, began working with UFC athletes in 2021.
Volkanovski coached season 29 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), where Brian Ortega featured as the opposing coach. 'The Great' brought several members of his team as assistant coaches for TUF 29, including Jones.
Having been a part of world championship corner teams for four years now, the BJJ black belt has shared a reality check to fans about the experiences that coaches go through in the corner.
Jones' comments came during a recent interview with Chris Williamson, where he said:

"I really don't like cornering MMA fights because you more feel relief that your guy got out of there healthy and okay. One thing MMA doesn't show enough is how badly hurt these guys are after the fight. Quite often the camera will avoid the guy that's unconscious for three minutes.
"From a coach's perspective, from a friend's perspective, when you see your guy unconscious for a concerningly long amount of time, that's a traumatic experience as well. For me, coaching, you're second-guessing everything."

Craig Jones addresses his recent viral arrest at FloGrappling
Craig Jones recently made headlines in the combat sports world after footage surfaced online of him being arrested at the FloGrappling headquarters in Texas, USA.
The Australian is known throughout the industry for his boundary-pushing humor. The footage of his arrest sparked wild theories about the reason for him being taken to jail.
Several days later, Jones posted footage taken by his personal cameraman of him inside the FloGrappling headquarters, which showed him destroying a poster featuring his arch-rival Gordon Ryan.
In a recent interview with Alex Wendling, the BJJ athlete discussed his viral arrest, saying:
"It did annoy them, but obviously, it has no intrinsic value whatsoever so they really couldn't press any charges. I did have to spend the night in jail. [FloGrappling] said, 'Come to the offices, f**k around.' For me, that's what f**king around is. We're gonna break some s**t, we're gonna cause some problems."
