A former UFC fighter released from the promotion recently has shared details about his next fight. The individual emphasized all of his mistakes and stated his resolve to return to his best form.
The person in question is Muhammad Mokaev, who recently took to X and gave an update on his next fight. The Brit announced that he will face former EFC champion Luthando Biko in a flyweight contest at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town, Bahrain on Dec. 13, writing:
''I’m back December 13th. Still Young & Hungry. Still learning many things in my life and I ain’t not stopping on failure, taking it like a man and try to improve from every mistake I have done! A lot of things didn’t go the way I wanted this year but Alhamdulillah it made me stronger and come back will be bigger than ever! I will never forget!''
Mokaev was regarded as an exciting flyweight prospect after amassing a winning streak of seven fights in the promotion. Following an intense build-up against Manel Kape, he went on to face the Angolan-Portuguese fighter at UFC 304 on July 27, and secured a unanimous decision win.
However, their fight was marred with controversy, as referee Mike Beltran cautioned Mokaev multiple times for grabbing Kape's fight shorts.
Despite Moakev's victory, MMA fans were unhappy because the bout fell short of their expectations. Following UFC 304, Dana White made the startling announcement that 'The Punisher' had been released from the organization, despite being arguably one win away from a flyweight title shot.
Following his exit, Moakev took to X and announced his signing with Brave Combat Federation, while expressing his desire to fight for the UFC again. He was set to face UFC star Raul Rosas Jr. in a grappling contest at ADXC6 last month.
However, their matchup was canceled and the unbeaten fighter blamed the UFC for the same.
Muhammad Mokaev will return to UFC according to Hunter Campbell
Muhammad Mokaev was released from UFC following his victory over Manel Kape at UFC 304. UFC CEO Dana White clarified that the matchmakers were unwilling to extend Mokaev's contract because of several off-the-octagon issues rather than his fighting style.
However, according to an Instagram post by Home of Fight, UFC CBO Hunter Campbell has apparently informed Mokaev that the latter might be headed back to UFC following a couple of fights under different banners.
